meh.
i've stayed here before in 2015 and decided to stay here again for our recent trip. unfortunately the receptionist girl was the rude and not welcoming at all, which overall ruined our stay in rome. room and breakfast were minimal and location also a bit off the main attraction.

Great value and great location
It starts with the most warm and friendly staff who welcome you and will go out of their way to help you in any way they can. Rooms are basic but very clean, could do with a mirror other than the small one above the sink in room 1. Place is very secure from outside. Easy access to metro station only minutes walk. Great base for exploring all that Rome has to offer. 😀😀😀

First Rome vacation
We were very happy with this hotel and felt safe. Danilo met us after regular hours for checking in, and was extremely helpful, pointing us to nearby restaurants etc. We loved the ancient elevator. The bed was more comfortable than more expensive places where we stayed in Turkey and Greece, but we still missed our comfy bed at home. Hope to come back one day.

Sightseeing trip
We had never been to Rome before and seen a great deal online, with this guesthouse. As it was such a great price, I was a little hesitant about what the guesthouse would be like. I needn't had worried. It was fab. We were greeted by the owner (I failed to get his name) he checked us in promptly and then got to the main thing - the real Rome experience. He gave us a map and showed us where and where not to go, so we didn't get ripped off. The room was fab and the location was perfect, we walked to the Collesseum in 10-15 minutes if you wanted to take the metro, it's only a 5 minute walk. Would definitely go back and would also recommend to other couples or friends who were looking for a place to stay in Rome.

Better than expected
The only reason i do not give this a five star overall reservation is because of the front desk hours of operations which if i remember correctly cease after about 2p give or take. But in all fairness if you need to check in late then they will work with you to get back in your room. And it's also somewhat difficult to locate if you do not know in advance that it is on the second floor of the address which looks like a regular apartment building once you get there. Fortunately enough i read previous reviews which made me aware of this in advance. Otherwise you're on your own after hours. But aside from that all basic necessities are available to you including a communal kitchen for everyone's use. I noticed communal bathrooms as well but fortunately i reserved the room with it's own bathroom which was even more beneficial for me. The location was great as we had easy access to all local public transportation and even walked to the Colosseum from where we were located. And for the money I can't complain at all, it worked out very well for us and i intended on utilizing them again on my next visit to Rome. The room was also very clean upon arrival.

Wouldn't stay again
I was a little bit disappointed in our stay after reading all the good reviews. I did not sleep well because the rooms are not very sound proof and we could hear people coming and going at all hours of the night. On two of the 5 days we were there there were smokers staying there and every time they would have a smoke it would fill the main hallway with cigarette smoke, which was very unpleasant. On the plus side, the staff was great. They were very welcoming and gave great advice and where to go and what to see in Rome.

Very Basic
The hotel is basically renting a room from someone. The staff is VERY friendly and willing to help you in any way possible- but the actual hotel is kind of lack luster. Our room was just that - a room, with two single beds stuck together to appear as a queen sized bed. This method didn't work very well...There was no A/C, which was no problem, other then the fact that a putrid smell would waft in the window in the morning that gave you the feeling you were in the sewer. Our bathroom was down the hall, it smelt so bad. It wasn't particularly clean, though the cleaning person came and cleaned it everyday. Can't say I would stay here again...

This hotel was bad. Our room had wall paper that was pealing. Room felt dirty. Shower not hot. We were in Italy, Israel, Jordan and Palestine, this was our worst room. Would never recommend this hotel.

Great Place
The hotel was exactly as described, clean and comfortable. The staff are extremely helpful suggesting local restaurants and ways to get around in addition catering to your every need. The location is also very ideal being a 5 minute walk to a metro as well as bus's/tramways. NOTE: If you are a light sleeper this hotel might not be for you. It can be very loud at night as you can hear the tramway and many ambulances driving by. Regardless, the overall quality of the hotel and its staff are top notch.

We enjoyed our stay at Sleeping Beauty. Everything was great except we would have preferred a softer bed (it was like a rock). Overall, it was good, the front desk guy (Luca) was very accommodating with our late check in.

Amazing experience in Roma
My girlfriend and I just returned from a 6 night stay at Guesthouse Sleeping Beauty, and we had a wonderful stay. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating (grazie Luca!), and the room was very comfortable, especially for the cost. Also are some wonderful restaurants around (our favorite was Pinsa E Buoi dei) and it was about a 20 minute walk to the Colosseum. The room was very clean and comfortable, and everything was, to our pleasant surprise, exactly as advertised. We will be staying there again when in Rome. Can't go wrong here!

Amazing place, so close to most things and the metro to travel to places further away was easy to find and close by. The staff were very helpful with finding the best parts of rome and with answering any questions we had, the recommended authentic Italian restaurants/ice cream shops were fantastic. It really is great value.

Nice budget facilities
This is a nice BUDGET traveler friendly hotel. It has a communal kitchen, laundry, library, and very nice help. It is an easy walk from the San Giovanni metro station and close to walking distance to the colosseum and San Giovanni Church. You have to remember that almost all hotels and B&B's in Italy are remodeled older buildings and there will be quirks but that is the charm.

It was ok overall but we are never told that the hotel is actually the second floor ONLY of a building... The rooms were right next to reception so there was 0 privacy with the thin door we could hear everything people said and I'm sure they could hear us, it is impossible to have any privacy. Knowing this I would not have booked this hotel . THE STAFF very helpful and nice but the door man of the building is VERY rude and will follow you and see you struggle with your luggage and not help but rather just stand next to you and watch what you are doing as if you were to want to steal their door knobs or something.

Lovely European Hotel.
This hotel was extremely accommodating. It was very comfortable and clean. The desk clerk got us a great deal on a taxi. The only down side is that it is a little difficult to find. It could be better marked on the outside of the building because there aren't any signs until you get to the second floor. But that might be a zoning issue. But we had a lovely stay.
