Super disappointed disappointed at orbit and the riu palace corporation because we went thinking that we were going to have full access to the hotel restaurants and amenities that hotel was about to close for remodeling so everything was half capacity I feel that that's super unprofessional from the traveling agent and the hotel that they were selling tickets full price and was not going to get the full experience .the staff did an amazing job and keeping the guess is happy as they could with what they had I cannot complain about the stuff they were amazing . But both of the major companies like the hotel and the traveling agent should take responsibility and not book hotels whenever you're going through closing or remodeling and not going to be able to get your money's worth.

The house maintenance people do an excellent job, the bartenders and all the people that work the kitchen and restaurants are awesome. Entertainment people give a great show. Overall I would give at least 5 stars to this resort.

Great property. RIU had 5 properties nearby which we had access to. There is a 24 hour sports bar across the street at RIU Tequila which guests have access to. I went there often and Off duty male staff, on more than one occasion, targeted us, it seemed to rob us.

The property is really nice, and we enjoyed the pool and beach. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was nothing exciting but not terrible. Our room was clean but was on the older side, and was a little loud, but I think that was our proximity to the laundry room. Overall, a nice place to stay if you want a good experience, but don't have a huge budget.

I just spent April 3-9 at Hotel Riu Palace with my 16 y.o. daughter. The hotel is on a beautiful beach, with wonderful sand. The staff did a great job of clearing seaweed. The staff was 90% welcoming, pleasant, and hard working. The room was dated but, totally fine. The mattresses are very firm, not comfortable for me so I requested a soft "topper" which was provided immediately. Now for the HUGE NEGATIVE: for the last 1.5 days of our trip, we stayed in our room because I was sick with traveler diarrhea. It was (and is) horrible. I am a health care worker in the US so I was very comfortable ordering an antibiotic at a local pharmacy. But, $50 of medication and lost use of the resort is a set back when you only have 6 days. My symptoms started on the third day of our trip. We had ONLY eaten at the Riu Palace so I'm 100% comfortable in saying it was transferred via food I ate there. We did not eat at any of the restaurants, only the Buffet at breakfast and dinner, and the only lunch option which is Guacamole. This is our 10th time to a RIU resort, and I've never experienced this before so it was disappointing. I always eat A LOT of fresh fruit so this very well may have been the culprit. I also ate A LOT of the pico de gallo that was randomly put out in different spots during different meals for me to hunt down. I'm on day 2 of 3 of antibiotics and my symptoms are improving. It was so awful, I cannot say I would stay at a RIU again after this vacation havoc.

I recently stayed at Riu Palace Mexico and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing—especially considering the premium price I paid. The food quality was far below expectations and lacked variety and flavor. I also reached out to the hotel during my stay to request a room change, but I never received any assistance or follow-up, which was frustrating. The room itself was uncomfortable—the “bed” felt more like a couch and was extremely unpleasant to sleep on. On top of that, the view was poor and did not match what you would expect from a resort at this level. Overall, this did not feel like a premium experience at all. For the price paid, I expected much better service, accommodations, and overall quality.

Really good place . I feel welcomed back to Mexico I always loved. It is a beautiful hotel with wonderful service , attentive staff , clean and with delicious food . Nobody wanted to overcharge for anything. Taxi drivers around playa del Carmen were friendly , prices for taxies are great and we did not feel like we are ripped off at all . It is all back to the Mexico we have always loved , to beautiful and friendly people , to great food and beyond amazing nature . I hope Yucatán will continue this way so all ppl from around the world come here with open 💜 Happy Easter ❤️❤️❤️

We were not given the room we requested. 2 beds instead of a king. The staff was very uncooperative in getting us into a new room, and we finally gave up trying. Very disappointed.
