Thoroughly Enjoyed our Visit
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Mayhaw Cottage. The property was very clean and was conveniently located. The decor was adorable. It was perfect for what you would hope for in Laurel. We also enjoyed getting to read all of the books in the house on Ben and Erin Napier and on Laurel. Tina was wonderful host.

Home Town with Like-Home Comfort
Property was in great location allowing us to park our car and walk. 2 bedrooms and bathrooms location provided privacy. We loved the outdoor seating and used it everyday along with porch swing. Tina, you couldn’t have been nicer and gave us great ideas of how to maximize our time in Laurel. We will stay again! Only suggestion is to clean bathroom vents (I only noticed since I used eye drops). Everything else was absolutely perfect! Thank you.

This is one of the best places in which we have ever stayed. All the photos are accurate, no downside whatsoever. It is clean, comfortable...almost like being at home. Great amenities! Tina was very thougthful in communicating including a stormy weather warning.

Great Laurel cottage
We loved the cottage, Mayhaw Place, in downtown Laurel. We felt at home and everything was great. Tina and Dale have the perfect place to see Laurel and explore “Hometown” Laurel.

Amazing little bungalow with thoughtful hosts!
We had such a great stay in Laurel, and loved coming “home” each night to this adorable little spot! It was perfect for me and my mom…it was clean, cozy, nicely decorated, and had all the amenities of home. Short walk to downtown attractions
We quite enjoyed our 3-night stay in this cozy home. Clean and tidy, and very nicely decorated, it is charming indeed. Bedding was great, and the kitchen well stocked. Enjoyed having two full bathrooms. As the dining room has been converted to the 2nd bedroom, the kitchen island is it for dining, which is a bit tight for more than 2 people. The owner was very prompt, courteous and helpful. Of note is that the homes on this street have have been re-zoned and converted to businesses. In fact, attached to the rear of this home is a quaint hair salon, however no noise from the salon was heard in the home. Overall, a very good experience. Recommend.

Swing through the South

So charming!
My daughter and I made our first visit to Laurel. The house was wonderful, so comfortable and beautifully decorated. There were weather issues at home that caused us to have to leave a day early and the owner was easy to communicate with and so willing to work with us. We definitely want to return to Laurel in the future and would love to stay in this sweet house.

Cute Cottage near downtown Laurel
Cottage was cute and clean, double bathrooms a bonus. Bedrooms were small but adequate. Outside lights were plentiful and windows need more light filtering treatments. The only negative was HVAC unit in back bedroom was right next to bed and very disturbing each time it would kick on and off, which was constant due to 30 degree weather. Very close to all downtown Laurel activities.

Annual girls trip
The cottage is adorable and very welcoming. You won't be disappointed. The location is nice. We could walk to just about everywhere we wanted to go. There's a lovely shop 2 doors down, an antique mall and restaurant very close by that you can see from the cottage and downtown is very easy to walk to. Tina is wonderful! She leaves you some treats and snacks at your arrival. She thought we might need something to do at night and told us about the fair in town while we were there. She even got someone to move their vehicle so we could be sure to park right in front of the house. That was so sweet. She was available for any questions and just a lovely host. The beds are comfy. The water pressure is also good...for my fellow thick haired folks lol. My friend and I are pretty picky when it comes to cleanliness and we were very happy with how clean it is. In downtown, it will be hard to find anywhere to eat from 2-5, so plan accordingly. And take the golf cart tour with DJ. He's awesome! Overall, it was a fun second half to our annual bestie trip. Stay here...you won't regret it! Thank you Tina!!!!

Cute cottage in great location!
We enjoyed our overnight stay here! The cottage was cute, neat and clean, and located within easy walking distance to downtown Laurel and the historic district. Our hosts had snacks and drinks for us - which was an extra touch we haven’t had in other rentals. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely Fabulous
There is so much to say, I don’t know where to begin. The house is adorable right down to its pink front door. Location was wonderful, a quick walk into downtown Laurel. The hostess Tina had everything you needed for your stay to include comfortable bedding, soft toilet paper, coffee, snacks and many other amenities. The house was immaculately clean, communication was quick and informative. I cannot say enough kind things about this home and hostess. We’ve stayed at VRBOs across America and this was by far the best!!! Don’t hesitate to book this little piece of Laurel history.

Fantastic Cottage
The location is perfect. You centered between the historic home district and downtown Laurel. The house is adorable. It is the perfect place to stay with your spouse and another couple. The home is clean and decorated with southern charm. We especially liked the added touch of mini moonpies and a snack basket. Would recommend this place to anyone who is wanting to visit Laurel. Tina was a great host. Communication was quick and easy. The cottage was soooo cute. Everything decorated beautifully and the little extra homey touches were awesome. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends. Only complaint is may need to look at replacing mattresses. Not very comfortable. But it didn’t slow us down from seeing Laurel .

This property is just a precious home. Lots of extras, like snacks of all kinds. Also had soaps, shampoo and conditioner there for the guest. Very good communication with the host. Location is great, you can basically walk just about to any of the special places you want to see while in Laurel.

Thank you for your review- we have done our very best to accommodate everyone. The need for larger cookwear has never been an issue- we will certainly consider additional pieces. As far as the price, it’s never been an issue either. Location is a main factor, and the fact that we have 2 BR/ 2 Bth, and we don’t require a 2 night stay. It is our goal to make our guests feel an extra special welcome when they stay with us. If not having a "larger frying pan" made your stay a little less than great, I am truly sorry.

Cozy Get Away in Laurel
What a great choice for a stay in Laurel! It was SO clean, within walking distance to all we could want to do, and very comfortable. This was the cherry on top of our trip. Tina knew we were celebrating our mom’s bday so she met us at the house to wish her a happy birthday, had a happy birthday banner and cake/card waiting for our mother. Weekend trip to Laurel
Adorable 2 bedroom 2bath cottage within walking distance of everything you want to visit in downtown Laurel ! Host was magnificent & left a thoughtful gift for us! Front porch swing was relaxing for an afternoon glass of wine ! Highly recommend the Bolton golf cart tour , dinner at The Loft , and take a walk down Euclid Ave & surrounding streets-beautiful trees & homes. Yummy breakfast at Grits & some ! First Time to Laurel
We are fans of the HGTV show Hometown. This house was perfect for a short stay. We booked the Bolton Hometown Golf cart tour when we made our VRBO reservations. The golf cart tour was the highlight of our trip. Loved the pictures they captured for us. Favorite breakfast was at Sweet Something; favorite dinner was at The Blue Crab; favorite dessert was at the Laurel Creamery. The small touches from Tina and Dale such as the snacks were very much appreciated (moon pies). The way the house is decorated is so cute, loved the shiplap. We had a great trip creating memories!

Laurel trip
This was our 3rd trip to Laurel and this home absolutely the best place! Beautiful home, inside and out, owners have furnished snacks, water and anything else you could ever need! This home has everything you could possibly need. Tina has gone above and beyond with details so there is no having to run out to get something. The location is walking distance to Downtown Laurel for eating and shopping and only a short drive or longer stroll to some of the beautiful homes on Hometown. We would definitely stay here again :)

Cute as a Bugs Ear…
To be perfectly honest, I was hesitant to reserve this property because it said it was across the street from a TV famous cafe and I imagined many lookee-lou’s driving up and down the street but it was the only two bath place available so I booked. However my worries were for naught as it was a quiet street during our entire stay. The house is perfectly situated to walk anywhere in downtown Laurel that you should choose to visit, there is parking in front of the house or in the backyard which is a parking lot for the salon which is attached to the rear of the home. The salon was never a problem - no noise, no extreme foot traffic, no smells, etc. Before we arrived, I did imagine the home had a backyard so it took me by surprise that it was a parking lot but since the street was quiet, the front porch swing was our hangout. The inside of the home is dressed to the nines with homey decor. This made it lovely and inviting. It wasn’t so practical though as there was not an empty counter for charging devices, setting down a drink, or preparing food. Ultimately I moved everything to one place so I had some free space but then was angry with myself for not taking photos so I knew where to put things back. Some of the property’s best things: location, there was plenty of water pressure and hot water for both showers to be used at the same time, one bathroom has a really nice tub for soaking, the towels and bed linens were of good quality, the oven cooked with nice even heat, the washer and dryer worked well and quickly, the Laurel weather was bi-polar and we needed both the A/C and heater at different times and they worked quickly and effectively. Not so perfect: shortage of cooking and baking supplies -host was made aware and says she’s fixed that- and to be fair I go all out cooking, my first night menu was roast chicken, white rice with gravy, broccoli, corn muffins, and garden salad… and if I sounded a bit critical remember, if I was to visit Laurel again, this house would be my first choice.
