"Great facilities, close to Jing'an Temple/Subway"
This hotel has great facilities, including a spacious gym and indoor heated pool. The staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are not large but comfortable. It is easy to catch taxis on the main road outside the hotel and the Jing'an temple station is a short walk. Unfortunately, when we left the hotel at night there were prostitutes (men and women) offering their services in the hotel car park, just to the right of the entrance. This happened on several occasions. It seems that the hotel concierge were oblivious and/or not doing much to move these people onwards. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you had children.
The hotel is located between two major shopping streets (Nanjing and HuaiHai Rd) and offers everything you would expect from a hotel of it's caliber, plus a little extra. The gym, buffet breakfast and room size exceeded expectations, my room on level 3 had beautiful views and the bathroom was modern with lots of shelf space for toiletries (always a bonus). The staff were polite, efficient and very patient.
A central and highly populated district, Jing’an is home to a large number of expatriates and several luxurious residential complexes. The striking Buddhist Jing’an Temple is definitely worth a visit. Considered one of Shanghai’s most famous sights, the temple features the largest jade sitting Buddha statue in China and a 3.5-ton Ming Dynasty copper bell.
