I need a train ride from Shanghai to Huaian and the Pullman hotel is very close to the train station. Rooms are nice, breakfast is nice, and the restaurant has good options for dinner as well if you don't feel like going out. Bathrooms have a great waterfall shower head, one of my favorite things after a 13 hour flight is a good shower. Aside from being close to the train station it's just a good location in general with lots of options to do things. Initially I had a problem with some reno noise outside of the window. The staff helped me upgrade my room into a better room on the 15th floor. The location was really convenient. It took me 10 minutes to jump onto my train from the hotel on the day of my departure. Last but not the least, the staff were really attentive. I really appreciated the help from Tina and her team. They did not have it open or available during the stay. They refused to let us use it and they did not tell us when we checked in that the pool was not open. Also, the breakfast was average at best. Two years ago I stayed here and it was the best place in Shanghai but today half of it was closed: no pancakes, no bread pudding, coffee was not hot, and the milk was watered down. No room servie was available, During these times, they shoud hire a lifeguard so guests can swim and have their normal menu for lunch. We would have extended and stayed 1-2 more days but the quality of stay and food was not the way it used to be. On their menu , they said they had no "steamed rice" or "spaghetti" , common foods and items they had before 2019\.
