Guest suite is on the first floor, with a private entrance (sorry, not wheel chair friendly, up 8 steps). Cozy, clean, secluded and quiet 10 acres, perched on a bluff 190’ above the Pacific Ocean and Secret Beach with stunning ocean views. There is a mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave and hot water kettle. But there is NO kitchen for cooking or living room. Only a well appointed bedroom, Queen Bed, and large private bathroom.

Tile floors throughout the room and large private bathroom.
Large private deck looking at the pacific ocean and sea stacks. Public access trail down to the beach cover is on the property. This trail is beautiful but steep and typically muddy in the winter time or during heavy rains.

The property is secluded and not visible from the road.

Deserving of its perfect ratings! From a seasoned trader.
Gorgeous location, breathtaking ocean/ sea-stack views. Big west facing deck with great chairs & a roof protecting from all but the most blowing rains. Many coastal hiking trails, very close by. Cozy super clean room/bath, well stocked with lots of little extras. John is a most accommodating & wonderful host! Very available if you need him but invisible if you want privacy. Great Wi-Fi. Solar battery back up if the power goes out ( very common in these parts in winter). All the positive reviews for the Secret Beach Retreat are well deserved! Thanks John for sharing this beautiful piece of Nature with us!

Nothing beats that ocean view. It was absolutely beautiful. When I booked the place I wasnt aware the owner lived on the property, I was a little hesitant but in all 4 days spent there I didnt see a soul. Very private. The hike down to the beach is frosting on cake. Bring an extra pair of hiking boots lots of mud and water on all near by trails. Would def stay here again. ♡

Gorgeous Spot and Excellent Host
I was blown away by this property. In addition to a million dollar view, the room is clean and thoughtfully equipped. John provides excellent communication and is very helpful. He knows how to give guests privacy and also make himself accessible if needed. I cannot recommend this enough. We would love to visit again.

Excellent little quiet getaway for solo travelers or couples. The view from the property and the deck is breathtakingly beautiful. I got a chance to meet the property owner John, and he was very friendly and more than happy to provide any information I needed. The local loaf of bread and hard boiled eggs left in the room for guests were a nice touch. Lots of local eateries with a mile of the property. I hope I get a chance to visit again soon.

Trinidad Secret Beach Retreat
This place was even nicer than the photos depicted! Immaculately clean, and obviously new construction. Comfy bed, GORGEOUS view of the ocean waves crashing onto the rocks below, nice chairs on the deck to watch the sunset. Vase of beautiful fresh flowers on the deck table! Host John had provided a loaf of local fresh sourdough bread, butter and jelly, freshly ground coffee, and also hard boiled eggs in our fridge! What a welcoming touch. He gave us good tips on some great hikes through the redwoods too! The steep trail down to the beach was fun! But would NOT recommend for someone not in shape, as it would probably be pretty challenging for some. There was a rope swing on a tree mid way down the trail, perfect to stop and rest or photo op. No tv on the room, but didn’t miss it since we were exhausted from our daily hikes and also brought a book to read. It was a little strange to only communicate with host through text and never see him, but we also felt very private and secluded even though he lives upstairs. There were lots of good restaurants in town just a minute or two drive from the house, a nice little grocery store for supplies, and I still can’t get over the fabulous views of the ocean at almost every turn, and of course an easy drive to see the big trees. I would highly recommend staying here at Secret Beach Retreat!

Tranquil stay with gorgeous view
A very peaceful place to retreat from the city, with a priceless ocean view and restaurants a mile away. Would definitely visit again.
