"Every thing was excellent.Only negative thing was that the parking for the pool was not available.Tricky finding a place near the pool."

"Overall it’s a nice hotel, only complaint really is we booked a couples massage in the “spa” only to find out the spa is under construction and they just had massage tables set up in a hotel room which we weren’t aware of. We walked around lost for about 15 minutes looking for the spa and even the front desk people couldn’t tell us where it was just that it was in a room. We finally found where to go but we’re super late to our massage so just less time for us. Better communication would have been appreciated. "

"My partner and I both loved our stay at the Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. There were so many wonderful things that we enjoyed. It was a beachfront hotel, so just a quick walk out of the lobby and you're at a pool with a hot tub and a little beach with a lagoon that opens to the sea. We enjoyed the refreshing water and being able to see fish in the water at our feet. There were also many walkable shops and restaurants; it's very close to Ali'i Drive where all the shops are. We enjoyed lunch at a nice grill and breakfast at a local coffee shop nearby. The views were amazing and the service was outstanding with a lot of aloha. There are also many services in the hotel, like UFO parasailing, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. There is also a beautiful art exhibit of King Kamehameha the Great."

"The ambience of Hawaii really does a lot for this hotel. The property is old and starting to fall apart. The rooms are decent and have great views from the balconies, but the bathrooms are the type you will find at a motel. The hallways smell like vomit at random times of the day at night. The staff is very average. The food in the restaurant downstairs and the bar is very mediocre. That being said, there is beautiful foliage everywhere and the property is right on the water, so the place looks magical at any time of day. I'll probably pick a nicer place in the future. But for my first time to hawaii, I really enjoyed the experience!"

"The Guest Services staff was incredibly helpful and courteous. Always willing to help. The condo unit was clean and provides all amenities needed - from pool towels to dish soap. If you need anything additional they are happy to provide. The bed was very comfortable. Unit was a little outdated but worked for us. There are Bbqs all over the property to use and are cleaned daily. Restaurant had a daily happy hour and live music every night. Highly recommend for all ages!"

"We stayed in building 25. It had EVERYTHING we needed! At first I looked at the overall price of the room and thought it was a little steep, but in comparison it was a better rate than hotels closer to the ocean. When we arrived and opened the door we saw the place is about the size of a livable 1 bedroom apartment. Kitchen was fully equipped with decent dish and kitchenware. Full sized refrigerator and the pièce de résistance located by the door we found it had a stacked clothing washer/dryer. I can't begin to tell you how accommodating that is. The bathroom was very big and recently remodeled to a modern design. Bed was cozy and the ac worked to keep the place cozy. Highly recommend!"

"Only stayed one night. Upgraded room to king bed was nice. They were sold out for parking on the premises. We were told that we had to park across the street at the Marriott. A little inconvenient. Overall stay was good."

"They didn’t offer us the right room, offered us the cheaper value room, the staff didn’t even inform us even when we made the booking for king bed 1 month back, told us they gave it to someone else. All this when we entered the room and realized the wrong bed type, and called them, they didn’t have the courtesy to tell us this beforehand when we were checking in. The parking charge was 15 dollars and there was no onsite parking we had to go to the other side of the road to park car, why do you charge parking in that case. I would not recommend people to waste their money on this hotel, I only booked it since my flight landed late and I wanted something near to airport on that night."

"Holua Resort is a comfortable, family‑friendly property that delivers a relaxing stay on the Big Island. The grounds are lush and well maintained, and the pool and surrounding facilities are inviting and peaceful. Our two‑story unit was **spacious** and thoughtfully laid out, with plenty of room to spread out, a functional kitchen, and comfortable sleeping areas that worked well for a longer stay. That said, the décor and finishes do feel a bit dated, so manage your expectations if you’re looking for something very modern. The one real downside was the layout of the resort itself: parking can be quite far from the units, and we found ourselves hauling luggage a long way in the rain, through areas with standing water, which was inconvenient on arrival and departure. Overall, though, the friendly atmosphere, quiet setting, and roomy accommodations made it a very pleasant stay and a place we’d consider returning to with just a bit of logistical planning."
