Hotel could use remodeling, location is great, and staff very friendly. The food and drinks were mid.

We stayed for 9 nights and there was not a day without some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. The staff is very very polite and friendly, but they lack professionalism and training. Some servers in the restaurants don’t speak very good English, so that can be an area of improvement. The overall impression is that the whole operation is out of tune. Strong management and review of all aspects of operations is recommended. Alila is not on par with the rest of the Mayakoba hotels.

World-Class Service and Family Paradise! Our stay at Banyan Tree Mayakoba was absolutely incredible, defined by the truly exceptional staff. Across the entire property, the service was seamless, warm, and highly attentive. Standout Highlights: Playa Sands Beach Area: The beach team was amazing and kept us completely taken care of by the ocean. Best of all, the kids absolutely loved all the beach activities, which kept them happily entertained for hours. Property Transit: Golf cart drivers were always prompt, friendly, and made getting around the massive grounds a breeze. Onsite Dining: Restaurant service was consistently flawless, from fine dining to casual spots, including the wonderful staff at El Pueblito. Pro Tip: You absolutely must try the complimentary eco boat tour that goes across the entire Mayakoba area—it is a stunning experience and completely free! This level of hospitality made our family vacation entirely stress-free. We cannot recommend this resort enough!

Place is amazing but Tulum is definately not what it used to be. Was a ghost town and town restaurants are a rip off

Absolutely one of the best resorts we’ve been to from stunning accommodations to great service and water crystal clear and Avery morning snorkeling perfect beach no seaweed and relaxing in the cabana. Top notch staff Carlos at check in to Hilario and Diego at breakfast To Victor our beach waiter that was so on point The grounds maintained always seeing everyone keeping the resort clean and at 5 star quality. June and seaweed free. Can’t wait to return

We had a wonderful short stay at the Belmond Maroma to celebrate our engagement. The staff and their service were top notch. In particular, Emanuel took great care of us. The spa was wonderful for both treatments and some time in the hot/cold plunges, steam and sauna. The restaurants were picturesque right on the beach - we particularly liked breakfast with the fresh juices of the day and daily changed pastries. The gym setup is excellent and the daily complimentary activities rounded out our stay. From the arrival welcome ritual to the departure treats, the staff was unbelievably hospitable. They even made us custom hats that said fiance/fiancee! We will definitely be back.
