Wonderful!

We had a fantastic time at Camp Karibu! The house and property are beautiful. Everything was clean and so well stocked, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay and enjoy Lake Placid.

Awesome home and great experience!

This was by far the nicest home I’ve stayed in over the course of my many trips to Lake Placid. The house is beautiful, immaculate and fully stocked. Check-in and check-out was simple and efficient and we were provided plenty of information to make our stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend!

Winter Wonderland

Camp Karibu was amazing. This house has everything one could need or want. It is spotless and very comfortable. We enjoyed our time together in this wonderful place. We skied, walked, shopped and did local touristy things. Everyone can't wait to go back!!

Best spot in Lake Placid

The home was lovely and had all the amenities we needed. The views of the mountains were spectacular. The location was ideal for walking to town or walking to the beach. Our host was most kind.

Long Weekend Getaway

We had an excellent stay at this Adirondack home! The owner was incredibly communicative and prompt, making the entire experience seamless from start to finish. The home was just as pictured – spacious with plenty of comfortable areas to relax, play games, and enjoy meals together. The open views across the golf course towards the mountains were absolutely breathtaking. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind and take in the beauty of the area. Highly recommend!

Awesome Family Vacation

Our family(7 of us) could not asked for a more spectacular and exceedingly comfortable vacation staying in this luxurious home. The home offered all the necessary amenities and then some. The mountainous views and the spacious living quarters provided a most enjoyable and memorable family vacation. Megan, the hostess, could not have been more helpful and communicative.

Beautiful and comfortable house with the perfect location to town

The house is beautiful inside and out! It is well appointed with both kitchen amenities as well as bathroom toiletries etc. there is the perfect amount of room for several families to spread out but still be able to gather for meals games etc. Megan is a wonderful and attentive host. We will definitely stay here again!

The Perfect Week!

This was by far the best family vacation in a VRBO or similar type property. The home was perfect for our family and we felt like it was our home away from home. The layout, views, fully stocked kitchen, bedding and comfy couches were awesome....and did I mention the views! Already planning to come back!

Exceptional Adirondack Home

Wonderful house in a fabulous location

My family of 5 loved this house! Everything was perfect. My teens loved the game room, the ping pong table was a huge hit. The kitchen was stocked with spices and cleaning supplies. The location of the house might have been the best part. We were a short walk to Main Street and Mirror Lake Drive. We had an amazing trip and hope to book this house again.

It doesn't get more perfect!

This house was amazing. We had family and a few teens with us and the kids enjoyed walking to town and having their own space to get away in the basement. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. The view is amazing and the owners were responsive to every question. We've rented many houses in the past, and this, was by far, the best house we've rented. There is so much to do in this area, we were all sad to leave.

Above and beyond

This was a last minute booking, we came 2 families of friends, with no explanation and we’re blown away. The property is beautiful and comfortable. It looks like the owner thought of everything to make sure will feel at home. Soft towels, perfect beds. Many spots to sit and relax in front of the breath taking view and to top it all out. Gorgeous kitchen equipped with everything you need to make gourmet food. Location is great, you can walk to the lake. Megan and Scott thanks for your generosity and opportunity to create wonderful memories, we are definitely coming back.

The BEST of Lake Placid!!

WOW!!! Camp Karibu is one of the best homes in Lake Placid! We travel each fall with our family of ten and have tried a number of rentals in the area. The family has gone the extra mile to ensure their guests are comfortable. While the weekend was rainy, we spent a lot of time drinking coffee and sitting in the cozy reading nook. When the sun finally appeared, we were taken with the stunning views! The family loved being able to walk out the door to golf or walk around the lake. We were impressed with the well-appointed kitchen and amenities. The owner took time to talk through our questions in advance and checked in during our stay. We loved the home so much that we booked it again for our winter trip. Thank you Megan and family for your hospitality. We look forward to our next visit!

Camp GMB meets Camp Karibu

The description of this house does not do it justice. It was everything and more. Absolutely beautiful property and home. The owners thought of everything. The views were beautiful, the outside beautifully lit with Christmas lights. Three floors with enough bathrooms for 13 women 35-40 years old. I can’t begin to tell you how refreshing the steam shower was…. We were sad to leave and are hoping to return back to this house again. Thank you for hosting us!

Thanksgiving 2032

A group of 3 families come to LP every few years for thanksgiving, usually staying in a hotel and going to Mirror Lake Inn for dinner. We decided to rent a large home and cook dinner there. This home exceeded all our expectations. It was big, comfortable, modern yet rustic. The views out the windows were spectacular. There were lots of places for the kids to get lost, but also plenty of space for when all 12 of us wanted to watch a movie. We cooked a huge meal and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The butler pantry/ coffee bar area was perfect , lots of cooking supplies in the pantry. The radiant heat in the floors made for toasty feet. We walked onto Main Street quite often, as it took about 10 minutes (3 minute walk to lake). It was the best trip to LP we’ve all ever had and we’d love to come back again!
