"Beautiful hotel surprisingly well located"
We thought we were in a strange location until we got out and walked....two blocks to the Mall! It was great. Hotel was lovely and staff accommodating, The room was nice but the thermostat was hard to adjust and became very hot. We had to call maintenance in the middle of the night to come and fix it-no windows could be opened. they did come and fix but the room tended to be hot and uncomfortable.

"Gorgeous hotel, wonderful staff"
We arrived Thanksgiving with a toddler and kindergartener. Staff was very nice when we checked in despite the hyperactivity of my kids who kept me distracted. We ordered room service and food was top notch both times. Pool was an ideal place for us to spend time.

"Wonderful place to stay!"
All staff members from those at the enterance who greeted us, to the concierge, to the servers in the restaurant and the patio bar, were so welcoming and kind and attentive to us from the start to the finish of our stay. I could not have asked for a kinder and professional group of people. Our room was kept spotless by the wonderful housekeepers who meticulously created a clean and comfortable room. Special thank you to Mohammed who attentively served us in the hotel restaurant and was so professional and polite. He truly loves his place of work and taking care of his guests!! Mary Chris was also so sweet and professional as our server. The food is beyond delicious! I don't think there could be anything you ordered that wasn't spectacular! Thank you all so very much. I can't wait to go back!

"Calm boutique hotel in best location on King St"
Stayed here twice so far. Unbeatable location, 2 blocks from King St Metro station (walkable). King St station is only 2 stops from Reagan Airport: breeze on to the Metro, 2 stops, walk off Metro and 2 blks to hotel. Beautiful, calm feel when entering hotel lobby, dark stone, herbal spa fragrance, calm lighting. Std King room has lovely crisp white sheets and modern bathroom with walk-in rainshower. Large flat-screen TV. Lovely armchair with its own floor-lamp and afghan draped over it. High-end feel. Brabo's Tasting Room for breakfast - I ate the spinach omelet and gruyere potato cake every day, with fresh OJ. Didn't try the other items: Belgian Waffles, Egg/Bacon/Toast, French Toast... They do allow dogs. I'm fine with that. Over 4 days, I met 5 or 6 large dogs in the elevator or lobby, other than that, I never noticed them. My place to stay in Alexandria.

"Good location and comfortable rooms"
Despite Kimpton claiming a recent update, the interior is pretty beaten up by the standards of this class of hotel. The whole thing needs a new paint job/freshen up. Nevertheless, the fixtures and fittings are very nice and very comfortable, and the rooms are light and airy. Good location too, within easy distance of lots of food/shopping in the Dupont Circle area and well located for both public and private transport options to downtown, Georgetown, etc.
