It is was very clean and nice. The staff was wonderful . The room was a little small and the bathroom was too small. It was difficult to use . The room was good for a weekend stay but a longer stay get a larger room. The pillows were too soft and the bed had divots in the mattress. The location is great. We did enjoy our stay.

The property is minutes from shopping, the White House tour, monuments, museums, dining options from $ - $$$$, post office, tour meet-ups, banking, Walgreens/ CVS, and a short commute to or from the airport. I liked that my check-in was swift and welcoming around 4 PM. The daily cleaning staff really took care of making my room spotless and placed my bathroom items on washcloths. The service freshened up my room and always remembered to leave 2 bottles of water. I had a small refrigerator to keep small bottles and small salads or sandwiches to eat during my stay in July. This was important for me personally due to medication and health reasons for a simple snack or dinner. My check-in from Expedia also included discount coupons for the restaurant on the (L) lobby floor. The Internet was simple to connect to and offered a choice between free and a paid option for faster speed (Netflix addicts or heavy business downloads) should get the paid option. I only needed the basic free option. The room was ideal in location for someone walking the entire area exploring. I am a solo female traveler and picky about my safety. I loved that I could walk around exploring. Checking out was easy. I was prepaid at check-out. Expedia took care of all the fees when I booked the hotel. The only negative was the room light. My room's lighting was dim for relaxation. There was no bright overhead or desk in my room to do work. As a relaxation room, it was wonderful. I overslept 3x during my week

We have been going to Hotel Washington for three years now. I love the ease of access to the Capitol, the very friendly staff, and although I was unable to utilize the amenities, I did notice them this stay and cannot wait to use them next time.

Hotel Washington remains one of our favorite destinations in DC, thanks to its excellent location and historic charm. Our recent stay during the July 4th celebrations in the Monument Suite was unforgettable. The breathtaking view of the Washington Monument, the top of the White House, and the spectacular fireworks display made our experience incredibly special. We owe a heartfelt thank you to the hotel staff who made our stay exceptional. Thanks to Alexandria, the front desk manager, for her thoughtful arrangements. Her attention to detail ensured we had the best room to enjoy the stunning views and festivities. Mary and Marilo from the front desk and Germal from housekeeping were all incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating, making our check-in and check-out processes smooth and pleasant. Their dedication to fulfilling our requests and needs, including allowing us extra time for check-out, was truly appreciated. The thoughtful effort from front desk manager Alexandria and staff Mary to arrange another fantastic room for us the next day further enhanced our stay, allowing us to continue enjoying the magnificent views and the hotel's unique atmosphere. Our stay at Hotel Washington was memorable not just for its prime location and historic elegance, but also for the exceptional customer care provided by Alexandria, Mary, Marilo, and Germal. Amazing to be next door to the White House. Rooms well equipped. Communal areas spacious and always somewhere to sit when waiting for taxis etc. Staff really friendly and helpful. All attractions within walking distance, 30 mins max. Nice patio area for snacks and drinks outside.

Looks can be deceiving! I checked in and no one ever told me about the increasing incidental charges that happened every night in the middle of the night. So what started at $370 at check-in ended at $572 by day 3 without notice. I was told that the system automatically decides if it needs to take additional money without notice they have no control over it. Dinner on the rooftop: Beautiful ambiance however we ordered the scallops and with each bite, I was met with the taste and smell of ammonia. I thought I was losing my mind and did a Google search and learned that the ammonia taste indicated spoiled seafood which came as a shocker since the DMV is known for its fresh seafood. I told the waiter and his response was “Oh no” We returned to our room and when we pulled the comforter back the sheets were stained with dried up blood and what looked like someone’s private hair. We called immediately downstairs and got no answer so we had to figure it out. The next morning they stated when a room became available they would move us. The morning of checkout I went through my invoice and the host stated they would email me a copy. I got to the airport, received the email, and all of a sudden there was an extra $100 in charges that were not there before. This reminded me of a previous review I read that the same happened to them. I called and they said “We will refund the money back to you & sorry. It’s unfortunate because we paid almost $1k for such a poor experience on vaca
