Hótel Kría

10/10 Excellent
"I absolutely loved my stay. Staff were super helpful, parking was easy, and the views were priceless. The lamb option for room service had to have been one of my top 3 lamb dishes in my whole Iceland stay. I keep thinking of the farro risotto it came with. The breakfast was good, I think it could have had a bit more variety as the options were the same every single day. I came solo, but this would be a great family stay as they had a huge game room available. Definitely worth it, and I would come back and stay here again."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Skeidflotur?
The best time to visit Skeidflotur is during the summer months, from June to August, for the mildest weather and longest daylight hours.

During this period, the average daytime temperatures range from 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F), making it comfortable for exploring the outdoors. You'll experience nearly 24 hours of daylight in June and July, known as the 'midnight sun,' which allows for extended sightseeing and hiking into the late evening. This is ideal for those who want to maximise their time exploring the natural wonders of the Southern Region.

For those hoping to see the Northern Lights, the best time to visit is from September to March. While the weather is colder and daylight hours are significantly shorter, the dark, clear nights offer the best chance to witness this natural phenomenon. Travellers looking for a unique winter experience, perhaps with snow-dusted landscapes and fewer crowds, would find this period particularly appealing.
