"The best hotel I've ever stayed! I got a good deal for this hotel and I was a bit suspicious in the beginning but it turned out to be the best staying in San Diego! Great location just a short walk to the train station (10min) and water front park, short walk to Little Italy (16min) and all bares, clubs and restaurants in Gaslamp Quarter (12min)! The most friendly staff! Super clean, cute and comfortable room, great Bathroom. The cutest decor in the room and bathroom! "

"My stay at the Westgate Hotel was overall really positive. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, which made a big difference throughout the stay. The hotel itself was very clean, and while the décor is quite ornate (especially in the beautiful lobby), the rooms could use a bit of an update. One thing I really appreciated was the security, having to be buzzed in late at night made us feel much safer as two women traveling alone. The only downside was a small housekeeping miss. On our way out one day, we requested housekeeping service and for breakfast to be cleared, and while the room was cleaned, leftover room service items weren’t cleared. After getting back late from a wedding, we didn’t want to deal with it, but it did leave a slight smell the next morning. They also gave me a complimentary bottle of wine for being an Expedia Gold member, which was a nice touch. Overall, a clean, safe, and welcoming place to stay with great staff and just a few small areas for improvement."
