I enjoy my stay there, but lack of English tv stations is very irritating. Also, both bathroom sinks I was assigned too did not have enough water pressure to even rinse my toothbrush.
Breakfast is free and good, but always the same, except for the hot meat dish. All staff whether at front desk, maids, or food preparers are great. Front desk is bilingual and helpful and friendly. Also not so helpful that they will only change $ 20 into local currency. It seems that they could have on hand up to $ 100 per person. No restaurants in building, but not a problem as next to a Mall with restaurants and fast food court.
Staff was excellent,we had some issues & they handled it promptly. Would highly recommend this place. If we travel to that area of CR again,This is where I will stay! Rooms were clean & comfortable. Breakfast was also included and tasty. Service was A+
Great trip, good hotel location and great staff. We paid for an executive level room, nice but disappointed not to get free wifi at this level. Most hotels give this at executive level and charging $10 per day is not good. I was also told that I don't get Hilton honors points because we booked through a third party (Expedia) this is rediculous and cheating customers out of rewards. May choose different hotel next time because of these two negative points
Pedro and Anita were very accommodating during our (3 family member) 5 night stay at Hotel Puerta del Sol.
Shopping (for groceries and otherwise) at the Cariari Mall nearby was available. The hotel is near the airport and the room was very clean and comfortable. The A/C worked perfectly although was not really necessary at this time of year in the Costa-Rican Central Valley. The amply sized room had a wide variety of cable channels a ceiling fan as well. The Hard Rock Cafe was nearby too!
Hotel Puerta del Sol is priced in a manner that is proper, unlike some of the hotels in the San Jose vicinity. I recommend the hotel wholeheartedly. Pura Vida!
This is a lovely B&B run by the fabulous Laurie. She welcomed us into her home as if old friends and we were only staying one night. Situated between the two San Jose airports it's perfect for one night stopovers or longer stays. The en-suite room was conformtable and nicely decorated - unfortunately we din't get to sample the full breakfast due to a very early departure but the banana bread we were packed of with was delicious. We loved it!
Of course if you prefer to stay in corporate places and not speak to the staff, this is not the place for you!!
Surrounded by mountains, San Antonio de Belen is in the Central Valley region, just minutes by bus from Alajuela and downtown San Jose. The town is home to 2 modern malls, 6 movie theaters, and numerous bars, coffee shops, and discotheques. Ojo de Agua is the town’s most visited attraction, featuring numerous swimming pools fed by water from an underground river.
