The property was beautiful, but the reception area was a bit small. Some of the staff were friendly, others were not.
Also when we booked through expedia, we did not know that the rooms were small. This is a must for anyone booking there to check with the Inn, regarding size, because apparently each room is different. We would have gladly chose a suite, if we had known, even though we checked out photos that were not shown well.
Dan (front desk) stood out more than all the others, he was kind enough to give us info on where to dine and explore.
We enjoyed using the exercise facilities at the Avalon Hotel, and also had breakfast and lunches there. This should have been told at the beginning of our stay.
We dined at Spencers (tennis club), Billy Reed's, Elmer's, Bill's pizza (which was amazing), Lulu's.
We both found everything expensive, but thoroughly enjoyed the scenery, as we had rented a car. I think maybe our stay was a bit too long at the one place.
However it is a great place to walk to downtown, but if you want to shop, a car would be recommended.
