Rustic home on cattle ranch, near Glenwood Springs

This retreat is located on a family owned ranch in Canyon Creek just six miles west of Glenwood Springs and a short drive to Aspen and Vail. A working ranch since World War II, you will experience grazing cattle and horses as well as mountain wildlife such as turkey, deer, elk and bears. The house offers quiet, private serenity for families or couples alike.

This home is located in open range pasture, so be prepared for close encounters with cows and horses! No pets are allowed for sake of the solitude of the livestock and wildlife. No hunting!

***A high clearance vehicle (at least 7" of ground clearance) is needed year round to access this home! During the winter months, a four wheel drive vehicle with snow tires, all terrain tires or chains is a must! You will not make it up the driveway without 4x4 and good tire tread or chains! A reasonable amount of experience / ability to drive in the snow is also required. Refunds will not be given if you choose to ignore this, and you must coordinate your own tow if you get stuck.***

The master bedroom, privately located on the lower level, is nicely furnished with a king bed, sitting area and television and has an en suite full bathroom.

Upstairs you will find a second bedroom with a queen bed, crib and sitting area, a third bedroom with a queen bed, and another full bathroom. The living room includes a sleeper sofa for a seventh and eighth guest.

The well equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare a home cooked meal. An outdoor gas grill is also available. The bar and dining area provide plenty of seating for everyone.

AMENITY LIMITATIONS: • This home's upper level has central air conditioning, but the lower level (master bedroom with en suite bathroom and laundry room) does not. A floor fan is provided. • Garage parking is prohibited. • This home's ice maker is not functional. Ice trays are provided. • Some of the windows do not have screens.

• This rural home is located on a working cattle ranch in the Colorado mountains which is shared with many creatures both great and small. Some of the tiny ones may find their way into the house from time to time, especially when doors are left open. This may include, but is not limited to, ants, elm seed beetles, flies, wasps, and on rare occasion even a snake or a mouse. Therefore, this home is proactively treated by professionals twice monthly (i.e. you may see a trap or two throughout your stay). Please do not book this home if this makes you uncomfortable. Refunds will not be given for critter sightings.
• A limited stock of basic guest supplies is provided to start off your stay, including coffee filters, non-dairy creamer, salt, pepper, cooking oil, sugar, food storage wrap, paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and laundry detergent. At least one bath towel per guest is also provided.
• We have a zero tolerance smoking policy, and guests will be charged accordingly (see House Rules).
• We abide strictly by the “Cancellation policy” (including road closures and / or inclement weather) and “House Rules” which can be found under “Policies” in the listing. They are reiterated during the booking process (on the “Review rules & policies” / “Step 2 of 3” page), at which time you are confirming that you agree to the terms. Please review them carefully!

Idyllic Location, comfy and warm house
Brought our program staff for a two night retreat and could not have been more happy with our stay. The home was comfortable and clean, very warm and inviting space. It was perfect for our meeting needs, and the outdoor spaces and secluded location (while still easily accessible to Glennwood Springs) added a huge extra bonus to our experience. Do note that while listed as 4 bedrooms only 3 are private with the fourth being the main sitting room that converts with a the pull out bed. Would happily return for work or pleasure to this amazing spot!

Wonderfully unique cabin
My sisters and daughter traveled to Glenwood springs for a couple days from Wisconsin. We weren’t sure what to expect with a cabin on a cattle ranch but it was magical. The patio was gorgeous and it was super neat having the cattle free range all around us. Excellent stay! I would book again without hesitation. Super Neat experience.
