"I loved this hotel. Very classy, well decorated combining the historic aspects of the area with the buildings original high quality finishings and making it all look seamless. With that said, the view was only that of a nearby brick building but it did keep it much more quiet. They even had earplugs in the room as we were above an alley with some early morning beeping from garbage trucks. Those little touches mean more these days to me I guess. There are amazing restaurants nearby, Gotham Bagels doubles as a pizzeria at night and it’s the best deep dish I’ve ever had in my half century of living. Pretty sure we ate 75% of our meals over the first 2 days from that building. They offered an online menu for the breakfast and it was super convenient. Also a Starby’s across the street did pickup only and it was amazingly quick and easy in the mornings. If you want a sit down breakfast, there’s a fancy cafe in the building with pretty good food and speedy service. Within VERY easy walking distance of Deerfield Station for train people. We took the bus to McCormick for the con and that was also an easy walk down to Michigan Ave. We parked a half block away for 40 a day but could have valeted for 55. All in all a great location with class and I will stay again. "

"This hotel is always a nice spot. My go-to in Chicago. It is consistently clean, the food selection at Hoyt’s is great and Juan is a wonderful server there. I typically arrive late but my room is always ready and I have no issues with amenities or location in the city. Love Royal Sonesta"

"The staff was very friendly. We were needy in our room and needed more coffee and more blankets and they brought them up so quickly and were so polite. The staff always said hi and goodbye when we walked through the lobby. They always greeted us with a smile."

"Breakfast was okay. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. However, I was disappointed when I contacted the hotel through Expedia. They did not answer my questions or address my concerns. I was charged more than the bill stated, and they haven't provided any explanation or response to my inquiries."
