"Don't know how this hotel ends up with a 4 star rating in Manhattan. However, if you want a Motel 6 style clean room with a comfortable bed and a pretty good location, then this hotel will work great for you. Do not expect any amenities - and I mean none (not even a pen in the room). And don't be surprised by the $45/night facility fee - despite no amenities."

"We had a great stay at the Lombardy Hotel. Really cordial doorman, bellman and lobby staff; nice bathroom amenities, comfy beds with lovely linens and highly secure rooms. Coffee maker took Lavazza pods, which were very nice, though ours only dispensed tiny espresso-sized coffees. This is an interesting property as it is mixed use; part apartment building, part hotel. Our party had 2 rooms, so we were able to see the drastically different styles of the rooms, which were both nice, but had very different wallpapers, furnishings, style of decor. etc. - felt a little bespoke, actually. The only issue during our stay was that our room cards seemed to get demagnetized very easily, but the desk staff replaced them promptly each time. A small matter."

"We had a great stay at the Fifty Sonesta in June! There were 5 adults and an infant, and we had plenty of space despite all being in a studio suite together. The mini kitchen was a bonus and helpful for washing bottles. The bathroom was clean, and there were plenty of towels. The staff was all very friendly, especially the bellhops! Breakfast was fine. If you're like us, half the fun of New York is the food, so we didn't really plan on eating the breakfast there, but it was nice to be able to take my little one and have some coffee and a snack before everyone else woke up. Super close to the Lexington & 53rd/51st station. We'd definitely stay again!"

"The location was great. It was clean. The rooms were smaller than advertised. The twin sofa bed was awful. It was not really a viable sleeping option. A simple mattress topper would probably make it better but all they offer is a blanket,pillow, and a sheet. The room was loud due to the ac and fan running constantly no matter what setting it was on."
