"The hotel is near Rush Medical Center in Chicago where I had early-morning surgery (had to be at the hospital at 5:00AM, and we live in the far-western suburbs - didn't want to chance driving into the city in the morning). The hotel is unusual in that it's an old hospital converted to a hotel. The price was outrageous: $522.89, which included $82.97 in taxes and fees. The room was about on par with and older Hampton Inn. OK, but nothing special - especially for that price. They said the high price was due to a marathon and other weekend events (it was a Sunday night). But the hotel was virtually empty. Parking? $37. And the "shuttle service" to get to the hospital? It was a Lyft (the hotel pays for it), but no cars showed up so we walked the 2 blocks - again, not a big deal, but another unfortunate circumstance."
