"Nice room"
The room was exactly what I needed for my one night stay and it was located in a nice neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and I'll be staying there again if I go back.

"Small hotel in the middle of boystown. "
The hotel is small, but okay. The rooms are small and it feels much like a New York boutique hotel, however the staff were nice and the location, if you want to be in boystown can't be beat. The train is right beside you and had some noise but nothing but. The convenience of the train to get to others areas was nice. For a long stay I would probably stay somewhere else and commute into boystown for nightlife but for a short weekend trip like I had, it served the purpose well.

"Great location and free parking a definite plus."
Rooms are not the cleanest. Tub would not drain and hairs left in it. Beds were comfortable but walls are paper thin so you have noise.

"Hampton Inn"
The hotel was nice and clean. My family and I were impressed by the facility and the breakfast. We were also pleasantly surprised by the extra towels in the bathroom and the closet space. My only complaints are the unexpected $50 hold placed on top of the $60 parking fee, the money was released the day after we checked out but it was a freally I want expecting and we waited about 10 minutes for an elevator to arrive on the 22nd floor. Other than that the staff, room and location were all great.

"Quickie hotel"
Staff are very rude. Out of two elevators one don't work. Room doesn't get cleaned. Charges twice then refund. Room smells like people have been smoking.

"Fair to good hotel in downtown Chicago"
The experience was fair overall. We got there and the front desk staff seemed cordial and receptive. He attended my request re. rooms far away from the elevator but unfortunately the rooms had problems.Mine had a toilet bowl leak that we reported and they fixed it right away.My brother's room was a different story as he had no heat, and after asking to be fixed, they just removed the furnace lid, and it continued to be VERY cold!!!No other accommodation was offered and my family stayed in a frigid room overnight! In the morning, when I complained w/the front desk female staff, she told me that she could only give a 20%discount as the manager had a personal emergency and was not there???!!!!!I insisted on a better deal as my brother has asthma, slept poorly, and could not be in the cold. She finally gave us 50%off after some persuasion...I will return to this hotel because the rooms are very comfortable, spacious, they have a closet/dressing area(rare in hotels nowadays reminding you of old times as they show in the movies)w/mini-kitchens,microwave and mini-fridges but the facilities seem old and need major revamping.

Write Inn Hotel - Oak Park Hotels
Rating: 2.5 Stars

Write Inn Hotel

211 N Oak Park Ave, Oak Park - Map

"Just-right-for-our-needs hotel"
The Write Inn in Oak Park, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago, was just right for our needs on a recent visit to relatives. The location was terrific: in the heart of Oak Park, within walking distance to great shops and restaurants, near the great, new library, across the street from the Ernest Hemingway museum, and within a couple of blocks of a church designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and close to the Frank Lloyd Wright visitor's information center. The hotel is not fancy but our room was clean, comfortable, reasonably-priced and provided all the expected amenities. While the parking arrangements were a bit awkward, the restaurant was terrific! Excellent professional wait staff, interesting menu selections, great ambiance, and tasty food. My only caution is that the facility is older and may need more updating: for example, as we were leaving, the elevator came to our floor but the door would not open, so we had to go down the stairs, luggage in tow.
