"Great Location"
Arrived at checkin time from a long drive from KY. The clerk said the room wasn't ready and it was rather silly to expect to check in exactly at the time quoted (??). We had nowhere to go and they have no lobby, so we had to sit in our car in 20 degree weather for an hour. Note that we saw no staff cleaning or exit the rooms during that time. The room was reasonably clean, had a decent bed, free internet, fridge, but old pillows made of lumps. Old toilet that clogged quickly, but bathroom reasonably clean. Unfortunately, a couple on the second floor above us decided to walk around until nearly 3:00a.m. and the ceiling creaked so loudly I was unable to sleep. Interestingly, you cant control your room temp and have to tell the ckerk and they will control it via internet.Day two was better as folks checked out. The hotel has free parking and was within walking distance of any type of food, coffee, entertainment and all public transportation (we don't drive around Chicago). Overall, it was an average place in a great location at a decent price.

Red Roof Inn Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile

"Convenient, old-style city hotel at a great price!"
Walking distance to great shopping on the Magnificent Mile! Easy bus ride to Navy Pier. Excellent restaurants in walking distance --Giordano's Pizza, RPM Italian, and Waffle Cafe are a few we loved. We came from O'Hare, so took the blue line to Lake and switched to the red line at Lake and State then one stop north to Grand. Easy walk to and from Grand & State Station on the red line. All three desk staff members we talked with were wonderful: kind, helpful, and knowledgable. Also, one staff member in particular was amazing with a couple of "difficult" guests who came to the desk. Awesome view!

The location is great. Breakfast is just ok, and the hot water takes a while, but the house keeper was a wonderful lady.

It is an old hotel but the price and location are very good. This is not a high end hotel but quaint and comfy. It will be torn down soon and a new large hotel will be replacing it.

Travelodge Hotel Downtown

"Excellent Location Right off the CTA & Grant Park"
I booked this hotel last minute for a NYE trip to Chicago and not expecting much being that it was a Travelodge and the prices were extremely reasonable for downtown on a holiday. I was surprised none the less at how convenient the location was to the CTA rail line as well as some good restaurants not even two blocks away. The room was comfortable and clean and room service called before they came up to clean. Thoroughly impressed!

"Amazing hotel in the heart of the city!"
This hotel was absolutely amazing!! Located within a very reasonable walk to all of the local area attractions and provides an amazing view from the top floor of the entire city. The heating and cooling in the room worked very, very well and breakfast was delicious! They offered a wide variety of different items from cereal and fruit to oatmeal, eggs, bacon m, waffles and bagels. The elevators were slow so be prepared to wait but they was never an inconvenience for us. The staff was very nice and friendly and the valet was very nice (very pricey but nice). I am looking forward to returning to the Hampton soon to visit more of the city! Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone

"Perfect ubication"
In the middle of everything, next to the train stop, good price, room is small, but very clean and comfortable, room temperature is perfect, water pressure and temperature are perfect as well, just two things, the hotel has no parking lot, the closest one is one block from the building, not a big deal I just think they should be specific on that, 2nd thing: if u have problems falling asleep due to the noise (as I do) You better bring some ear plugs, and you will be just fine! I definitely come back!
