United Kingdom Romantic Vacations

Very disappointing experience. The only helpful and professional member of staff was Philip, who was excellent. The hotel, room and spa/swimming pool are poorly maintained and clearly in need of refurbishment. There aredamaged walls, missing parts and areas that looked neglected. For a 5-star hotel, this is simply not acceptable. Communication was also very poor: none of our emails or calls were answered regarding check-in, luggage or restaurant information. Even Hotels.com was unable to reach the hotel. The restaurant service was equally disappointing. When I asked for the food menu, I was given the drinks menu, which was visibly greasy and covered in oil. It is a shame, as the property could be soo beautiful, but the maintenance and service are far from 5-star standards. The spa facilities were also overcrowded. To make matters worse, in the evening the swimming pool was reserved for an external class, and hotel guests did not had any space left. Not being left space in the pool as a paying hotel guest is absolutely unacceptable.

We returned to the Midland. I’ve stayed there five days previously it is I go to Hotel when we’re in the centre of Manchester. The staff are friendly polite and make this Day very welcome.

It’s a great location. The hotel is older and not air conditioned. The restaurants don’t have great food but have a good view
