Vancouver Coast Cheap Vacations

Was so pleased with our experience at the River Rock. We were surprised with an upgrade to a penthouse suite, which just thrilled my kids! We were disappointed when the pool was shut the night we arrived however it was open the next morning and we all had a blast on the water slide! The only downside was the parking. Unless you pay for valet the parking garage is a bit of a walk, and you have to walk passed the outdoor (closed in) smoking sreas that i assume are attatched to the casino. Walking up to the hotel in air thick with cigarette smoke smell was not great. Aside from that our experience was wonderul and we will be back for another staycation!

Staff were absolutely amazing, hotel smells so fresh and clean. Small fire incident happened near the hotel and the staff handled the situation with grace and never hesitated to explain the situation. At one point the power had to be turned off to the whole building due to the fire outside. The staff was calm, efficient and even brought around flashlights to ensure all of the guests felt as comfortable as possible even with the situation at hand. :)

Unfortunately the restaurant & bar was closing when I checked in… wish it stayed open later

Unfortunately the power was out, so we did not have internet/air conditioning for one day of the trip. Otherwise it was alright. Had to ask multiple times for an extra towel (3 ppl in a room, only got 2…). Hotel staff were very friendly, however.
