USB charger at the monitor was not working, however I was able to use the power outlet under the seat. Somehow I didn't know there was a power outlet under the seat- I couldn't see on the display menu to show me this power outlet. I asked the staff if I could change seats and she told me there was an outlet there. (The outlet doesn't have a USB outlet however, I had my adapter so this saved me). I thought this issue was important to mention because I'm recovering from a concussion and am sensitive to noise- so I brought noise cancelling headphones that needed charging. Its a lot more relaxing with the headphones on.

How to survive the flight to Abbotsford?
Depending on where you’re coming from, your trip to Abbotsford could be a piece of cake or it could drag on forever. Below are some tips that will help you start your next unforgettable escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:

  • Flying can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you’ll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don’t forget to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.

Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:

  • Make sure you don’t have sharp or pointed objects hiding in your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable substances, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).

What to wear on a flight:

  • The best way to ensure a comfortable flight is as simple as the clothes you wear. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin starts to cool down. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left for other occasions. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will thank you later.
  • The result of sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. But the great news is there are proven ways to reduce the risk of developing it. Keep your fluids up, get up and wander the aisles as much as you can and wear compression tights or socks.

How to get through airport security fast when flying to Abbotsford?
The secret is to be well prepared before you arrive at the security gate. That way, you’ll be boarding that plane to Abbotsford in no time flat. Follow these helpful tips and get your vacation off to a flying start:

  • Security personnel first need to establish that you have a valid passport and boarding pass before you’re allowed to proceed any further. Have them in your hand, ready for inspection.
  • Time to strip down. Well kind of. Your belt, jacket, keys and other small items, like coins, will need to go on a tray through the X-ray machine. Make the whole process easier by removing them before your turn.
  • For just a few minutes, you’ll need to unplug from the digital world. Your tablet, phone and any other electronics will need to go through the scanner.
  • Don’t forget to remove liquids and gels from your carry-on luggage. They usually need to be sent through the X-ray scanner separately. Each product should be in a container no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and everything must fit in a quart-size (one liter), clear zip-close bag.
  • Lightweight sneakers are a practical footwear choice as you’re less likely to be asked to remove them when going through security. Boots and heavier-style shoes are often subjected to additional screening.
  • Airlines will not allow any sharp objects in your hand luggage. If you must bring these kinds of items, put them in your checked baggage.
