(1,001 reviews) This is my wife’s and my second time to the resort. We stayed at the White Sands side last time but decided to try the Kantenah area during our Jan trip with our two friends. I like to pick resorts with great beach access for snorkeling and ones that are 4-5 stars for amenities. We love this resort because of the snorkelling, and great tennis facilities. Victor who ran the activity center was excellent. He was our archery instructor and helped get us our tennis equipment every morning. He took the time to help my wife with her Spanish. In fact all of the staff were very friendly and provided excellent service all over the resort. Special mention also goes to Donald who ran the turbo class. We found that the drinks at the Grand Palladium were generally better quality than some other resort we have tried. One big bonus of this stay was enjoying VIP status because of booking with Expedia. This allowed us to enjoy the entire resort and get priority booking at the restaurants. We would highly recommend this resort. (316 reviews) Location of the property is really good, the beach is gorgeous! Staff is super friendly and kind, food is tasted realky good. The yoga class is a plus! Great experience you must try it out. There are some construction works in progress around the property, and there was a bad smell coming from the street; The spa staff walks around with incense a couple of times a day, which is really helpful. We had a bad experience with the TV, we did not use it until de last day, since it was very windy and we wanted to stay in and watch a movie, TV volume did not work and the hotel staff was not capable to provide a solution. There was also a lot of noise from the room above ours, during sleeping hours, furniture being moved, objects dropping and waking alarms really early. (1,625 reviews) The staff were amazing. So helpful and friendly. The hotel itself was not the best. There were a lot of maintenance issues, mainly plumbing. The hotel smelled like sewage a lot, toilets clogging, toilets leaking, showers not working. The rooms were very basic, nothing fancy. The Italian restaurant was a complete let down. Not good at all. The Japanese restaurant was AMAZING. The buffet for all the other meals, was very up and down. Not a lot of options, but they always had fruit and bread out! But the food was stale or very plain a lot of the time. The snack bar on the beach had yummy nachos! The deck restaurant was also very good! But not the bacon burgers! The coconut ice cream was the best part. The bars were both very good, all drinks we tried were amazing. My favorite was the mango margarita with tajin salt rim. This hotel does not have very many entertainment options. There is yoga, volleyball, water aerobics, bracelet making, and boxing. There was karaoke and a dj most nights in the lobby bar. And the had live music in the buffet and Italian restaurant most nights. The elevators are very slow and the only building that has them is the main building. Don’t stay on the first or second floors in the main building, they are very loud when the “night club” is in full swing. The spa was very nice and well worth it!
