Tulum is a town on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. It is one of the last cities inhabited by the Mayan people and was once an important trading hub, generating enormous wealth exporting jade and obsidian. Now, it is a fascinating city-museum, with well preserved temples and stunning coastal views. Tulum is home to great beaches, lush jungles, Mayan ruins, gorgeous lagoons, and an upscale nightlife. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS Playa Paraiso - one of Mexico’s best beaches. Ordinary menu at ondite Panza restaurant, but preparation/taste excellent chef's'touch. Loved "penthouse" with great jacuzzi. Property pool was gorgeous. Avg guests was 30-45 y. Walk to town 20-30 minutes safe. Taxi to town250-300, to ruins 500 and hotel zone 600-700\. Varioations to be expected. ##### Janet A. Reviewer Comments: This resort and penthouse unit are beyond wonderful. The resort is lovely and well maintained. The onsite restaurant is incredible- every single meal and dish was fantastic. The pool area is heaven. The unit is just as the pics and the rooftop patio with private pool was beyond amazing. The only downside is the stove did not work during our stay (we reported it but they were unable to fix it while we were there) - and there is no other way to heat anything. No microwave, not kettle for water, no coffee maker (there is a French press but no way to heat water to use it). PLEASE add a kettle and/or microwave. The kitchen was essentially useless to us with no way to heat leftovers or make our own coffee. Aside from that, perfection!
