Staff was nice. But I did not appreciate that they semi force tips out of you. I am fine to tip, but the staff should not be selecting the amount for me. I have the right to do that myself. When they ask if its alright, it puts pressure on the guest to say yes. Many times, they did not even ask and said it was a ‘service fee.’ This made it seem mandatory which is lie. It honestly reminded me of places I used to stay in for $9 USD a night in SE Asia when I was backpacking there. There were definitely surfaces I didn't want to touch or get my luggage near. My mom woke up congested in the morning because if the mold (we think). It was hard to get onto the property and the police we encountered were not helpful at directing us to the entrance we needed to take (which is through a building BTW). The food is expensive and not good. It was nice to get breakfast for free though. The staff is so so kind and wonderful. Like, the best. However the room was tiny with no air flow. All our cloths started to mold in the week we were there and everything stank. The place needs repairs and updating desperately. Even the lobby roof leaked like crazy when it rained - and it did several times. Location is great in that it is 2 min from your room to the beach. Yet paying 120 pesos each day for each person to enter the park if we went outside the gates got tiresome. Going to explore tow or cenotes means you constantly pay. We rented scooters for the week and were grateful we did as the hotel is a long way away from restaurants, shopping or amenities. It’s really beautiful. So many places you can take pictures. Even out side of it offers like a long pathway you can walk around to and from of places. They have bikes you can ride and it’s about 10 ish minutes from town. I really recommend this place. Worth it if your vibe is quiet, peace, and calm. Staff are friendly, kind, and very responsive. Amenities and menu are very decent, but did get boring toward the end of our stay. Many days items were out of stock, which can be frustrating. Included breakfast was a great value, but as mentioned, being out of stock of items some days is disappointing when the menu isn’t that extensive to begin with. Prices are a bit high for food and drinks, but seem on par with the elevated prices in the whole region. But there was barely any WIFI signal in our room.. And our eSIM signal was pretty much non existed. At night, we had to go to the lobby or restaurant to use the wifi. But those areas are swarmed with bugs.... The water pressure in our room was really weak. Shower water temperature was never consistent. Too hot or too cold.... And the washroom area always have a bad sewage smell. The mosquito net over the bed has many dark spots.
