When is the best time to go to Sheldrake?

The best time to visit Sheldrake depends on whether you're seeking warm-weather outdoor activities or a peaceful, cooler retreat. For those looking to enjoy the Sheldrake River and surrounding natural beauty, late spring through early autumn (May to October) is ideal. During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm, superb for exploring the walking trails, enjoying boat trips on the river, or simply relaxing outdoors. This period also sees local markets and outdoor events in full swing. If you prefer a quieter experience with crisp air and fewer crowds, the shoulder seasons of April or November can be lovely. You'll find the scenery changing with the seasons, from spring blossoms to autumn foliage, offering excellent opportunities for photography and tranquil walks.

Top Sheldrake Hotel Reviews

Ithaca Marriott Downtown on the Commons

10/10 Excellent

"Recently renovated rooms. Great location near restaurants."

Hilton Garden Inn Ithaca

10/10 Excellent

"The room was very nice and the location was perfect for attending an event at the State Theater, for walking around the city and visiting the waterfalls. The only issue was the construction in front of the building. There wasn’t any place to pull up or park while checking in or out. There was parking provided in a garage nearby which was helpful."

The Historic Gould Hotel Seneca Falls, an Ascend Collection Hotel

8/10 Good

"The hotel was nice. Staff was great! However, the mattress, not so good! It has seen better days and it was old needs to be replaced. You sunk into it and it squeaked, very uncomfortable. Other than that, it’s a good place to stay."

Inn at Taughannock Falls

10/10 Excellent

"Had an excellent stay at the inn with my husband. We really loved the ambiance of the inn. It was clean and the staff were friendly. There were 2 weddings when we were there but we were not disturbed by the celebrations at all. It was lovely to have Taughannock Falls State Park so close by as well. We would love to stay here again!"
