Broken cupboards, missing paint, squeaky floors, hot tub with no jets/bubbles where we discovered a dead frog. Also the property had not been cleaned recently; dusty surfaces, not vacuumed, dead bugs everywhere, cobwebs, animal excrement on back deck as well as cigarette butts and empty beer bottle. Very dirty windows made it difficult to use binoculars or to see outside. Termite poop all over master bedroom dresser covering towels, caused by the termites in the ceiling. Loud popping noises from wood beams as house settled at night, all night. I gave this five stars because overall, the property was great and peaceful and the right price for what it offered. The view out to the ocean is spectacular and the location was exactly what we needed. With that said, a few frustrating things that are good to know before you go (or book this property at all): -- the bunk bed is very high and it doesn't have a guard rail or a ladder. For children, it's basically a middle-of-the-night broken arm waiting to happen. We pulled the mattress down to the floor and it worked out fine. -- The studio heat does not work. You need to use the space heaters. When we plugged in the two that were available, it blew the fuse for the wall outlets. We ended up plugging in one to a different outlet and it worked out fine. I raised the issue but it was not addressed during our stay. -- we did find some mouse poop in the silverware drawer. Gross, but we didn't spot any critters during our stay. -- none of the the wall outlets in the kitchen along the counter space worked, we had to plug the toaster and coffee machine up on the other side of the room and sit them on the floor. -- no control over the hot tub. The temperature was fine though so not a huge deal. -- pay attention to the check in instructions for location of the Vacasa office. Putting the address given into Google maps sent me 10 minutes beyond Gualala and suggested I drive off a cliff. The instructions do have important details on exact location, ignore Google maps. ##### Molly D.
