When we were 30 minutes from the property, (this is also Approx 30 minutes after checkin) I received a call that there was an A/C problem and the property manager was there to fix the issue. I requested that before we check in that we check the unit to ensure the A/C was definitely working. They reassured me that it was just a quick fix and it had been resolved. When I finally convinced them to let me check on it before checking in, the A/C was still not working.
I had not signed our rental agreement yet and let them know that this was the case: The rental agreement states THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MEcHANICAL FAILURES including A/C issues and will not be responsible for providing a refund. 4 night stay, costed over 3,000, A/C issue before we checked in and when I spoke to the director of operations,
she blatantly stated “I DONT OWE YOU ANYTHING”. I believe this is more than enough of a reason to never utilize this property management company again.
While she did back down and say give her until 6 PM and if it was not fixed, they would try to work something out but no guarantee of refund so we could rebook at the same location that had other openings, that just screams bad business to me.
They did fix it by 6 PM and the rest of the trip was great with no complaints. However, the start of the trip was definitely rocky and I question what the result would have been had they not been able to fix the A/C.
