The beds were particularly comfortable, the bathrooms were well maintained and the kitchen had everything necessary to be able to cook and enjoy your stay. The complex could use a good refresh but was well kept. The balcony was small, but the view of the beach and ocean was fantastic. Management was responsive when we had questions. Check in was a little laborious after a day of travel - park outside the complex, get a key out of a lock box, walk around the complex and go up to the apartment, get a second set of keys from the apartment, go back down to your car and then get into the garage and go back up to the apartment. Then of course do the reverse on the way out. The neighborhood felt sketchy and there were some folks visibly shooting up in the little park just south of the complex. Unfortunately the water at Imperial Beach almost always has bacteria levels that are too high to safely enjoy the beach. We didn't realize this until about 2 weeks before our stay, which wasn't within the cancellation timeframe. The listing is not forthcoming on this, so if official beach bacteria warnings and/or closures will dampen your enthusiasm, please be warned. Our research showed that the beach was only at acceptable bacteria levels for a month or two in the last couple of years. There were people in the water and on the beach, but we weren't interested in getting sick or subjecting our 3 year old to sewage. ##### Collette D. While the hotel was very nice, the accommodations were small for 4-5 adults. This trip we were adding a couple more days and decided to research the rental route. We were VERY pleased with what we found in Imperial Beach. We felt safe and the condo was in both clean order and quaint. Went a little crazy with the key situation. Had to have a key for elevator, to go out to the beach, to get into the complex. I appreciate the security. The exterior of the entire complex is aging and needs fixing. Guard rails up to hot tub and going down to the beach were loose. (Hanging on by a thread). The living space was big enough to accommodate our large family. The pool and hot tub was nice to enjoy when we weren’t at the beach. The location was wonderful as well, with local shops within walking distance and bigger attractions such as Sea World only a half hour away. The only negative things were that we ended up needing to buy more toiletries ( toilet paper, and paper towels) and the bedding was washed with too much fabric softener causing it to be too strong for our sensitive skin. We would definitely return to this rental and recommend it to all. ##### Sarah R. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of everything in the condo. It was just my husband and I, but everything was very comfortable for us. We didn’t have any problems. One of the reasons we stayed here was because my husband has a handicapped and cannot handle stairs. Once we were able to pull into the garage it was a short walk from our parking spot to the elevator and then a very short walk to the condo from the elevator. I however did have to go up stairs to the apartment to get the garage opener. So, this place would not work for two handicapped people. We loved this condo, highly recommend it & will rent it again. ##### Desiree C. Great view of the beach. We saw dolphins swim by while having coffee on the balcony. Condo has all your basic needs. Easy to work w property manager. Ideal location to Coronado and downtown San Diego. Great location and view. My only complaint is the beach chairs, etc. are very uncomfortable for people hoping for a lot of beach time. The patio provided one appropriate and comfortable chair....the other chairs were cheap and uncomfortable for long stays outside. For a condo listed at the price this one is, they should highly consider these upgrades. I recommend to future visitors to bring HE laundry detergent for a front load washers- I planned a head and brought pods for laundry and was frustrated to have to go to the store to purchase the type of soap the property required. In adequate kitchen supplies for cooking meals, which we did regularly. It would be nice to also bring extra trash bag, blankets and toilet paper as these items were in limited supply. We purchased a fan for those who need white noise/air flow and left it on site for future guests. It would be nice to have a fan available for each bedroom in rentals for those who need. When I had a question about check out, the management was responsive and friendly. Despite these suggestions, the stay was wonderful and I would do it again. In fact, I'm checking my calendar now! :-) ##### Molly G. We enjoyed our stay, but would advise travelers about the following: No beach toys Bunks are unsafe (top bunk) Queen mattress guest bed is very uncomfortable The kitchen is very sparsely equipped The condo comes with NO comfort items. No dish soap, laundry soap, no sponge. The “user manual” for the unit is very redundant and needs revising and updating. The pool and hot tub are very excessively chlorinated. If you have sensitivity to chemicals or respiratory issues don’t go in. I would recommend this complex, if not this unit. ##### Siara J. Early morning and evening walks were wonderful. There were 2 couples staying in the unit and we found the living room/dining/kitchen to be roomy for the four of us. The master bedroom bed is very comfortable and we loved the pillows. The 2nd room's bed is smaller and there are additional bunk beds in that room so I think our guests felt a little cramped, just something to keep in mind if you are traveling with a group. There are some fun places to eat if you don't feel like going to the city, and there is a store close by if you want to stay in and cook. ##### Piper M.
