"We arrived at hotel at 11:45 p.m., did not actually get the keys to our room until 1:30 a.m. Due to a computer glitch, the hotel was overbooked. The woman at the front desk was under a lot of pressure from irate reservation-holders, but valiantly tried to find rooms for everyone. Those booked for more than one day had to go to other hotels, which the New Yorker management found and paid for. Because our reservation was only for one night, we lucked out and got the last available room. It was also the best room in the hotel, a suite with a private balcony on the 38th floor — maybe they were saving that room in case a celebrity showed up at the last-minute. Our accommodations were fantastic, and they gave us complimentary breakfast and let us check out late (3 p.m.) so we could get some sleep. Clearly they felt bad about the chaos at check-in, but they more than made up for it."

"The staff was very personable, friendly and helpful. I wish I would have been informed upon arrival about the discounted rates given when using UBER to move about Manhatten. I did use this when we departed for JKF and saved over 25 dollars so thank you for that. The elevators are fast and efficient. The attached restaurant left alot to be desired, we dined there on the 13th and the service was sub par. the Food was good. I wish the property offered and provided a breakfast option where you pay addtional per person and are provided a buffet style breakfast along with coffee, tea juices etc. "
