Nikko Kanaya Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The oldest Western-style hotel in Japan. Beautiful elegant building and old world charm - a welcome change from the ultra modern hotels prevalent in Japan. Would thoroughly recommend."
"A truly perfect stay at the Fairfield. You cannot fault this hotel and service, the reception staff were so friendly and go out of their way to help or provide advice. Location is about 5 mins drive out of Nikkō, so too far to walk from train station if you are considering. Room was modern and very comfortable, great a/c which is important in this hot summer climate. There are some food options available for sale at the hotel and a small kitchen area to heat food as well as a complimentary tea and coffee machine. Good self serve laundry area too. Ample free parking is available if you are hiring a car. Nikkō and the surrounding area are truly beautiful, we absolutely loved it and highly recommend this hotel as a great option."
"This place was a Mom & Pop operation with a very familial atmosphere. Ken and Ise were very welcoming and helpful with helping us get settled, finding our way around Nikko and just generally friendly and helpful. If you're interested in a more homey atmosphere vs. Corporate hotel this is the place for you

"This was a great hotel for an overnight in Nikko. Private bathroom in our room with stocked bathroom amenities, large comfy bed for two with a little table and chairs plus a delish breakfast buffet. After a day of sightseeing we enjoyed the Baths. "
