We were the only foreigners we could see. Beautiful property, view and area. Not a lot of places to visit but enough for 1-2 days. FYI This property is not at the Nikko city but the Nikko area. Large buffet and free drinks. Beds on the floor and daughter was really on the floor but all part of experience. We booked the Momiji suite which is huge, clean and nice. But the “open air” bath tub is not at all open air. The private bath is enclosed in its own room which stays steamy 24/7, so the air is 40C/104F. This makes mold grow on the walls. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The included food is a mediocre quality buffet that is exactly the same every day. It seems like Kinugawa has not recovered from Covid, as the town shuts down around 4:30 and there are very limited restaurant options when you get tired of the hotel buffet. On a positive note, Nikko National Park has many spectacular natural wonders. The description says open air bath, and shows a picture of a hot tub with floor to ceiling sliding doors. This is false! The hot tub room is completely enclosed with NO Open Air. Therefore the hot tub room air is close to the 40C/104F temperature of the tub. This promotes mold growth on the walls. The buffet is cheap food and the same every day. We saw between 4 and 7 tour busses stopping for just 1 night. That seems to be their target market.
