Vacation in the relaxing atmosphere of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Three main islands offer sunny days and sandy beaches along with centuries of interesting history.
The islands’ warm weather entices people to escape cold winters in the U.S. mainland. On St. Thomas, the protected harbor of Charlotte Amalie comes alive when cruise ships arrive. Walk along the streets to enjoy duty-free shopping. Outside of town, Magens Bay offers 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) of soft sand and clear water for family enjoyment.
Take a ferry across the 4-mile (7-kilometer) stretch of sea from Red Hook on eastern St. Thomas to Cruz Bay on St. John. More than half of the 20 square miles (5,000 hectares) of St. John is Virgin Islands National Park. Read the subsurface markers as you snorkel along the 225-yard (206-meter) Trunk Bay underwater snorkeling trail to observe schools of colorful fish, swaying sea fan coral and occasional sea turtles. Visit the relics of the island’s 18th-century sugar-producing era at the Cinnamon Bay Factory, Peace Hill Windmill and Annaberg Plantation.
St. Croix is the largest of the islands. Rent a jeep to explore the island’s rugged interior. Learn about the Danish West Indian history of the islands in Frederiksted at Lawaetz Family Museum and Whim Plantation Museum. Sample Caribbean rum at the local Cruzan Distillery. St. Croix is known for the excellent selection of fresh produce at its farmers markets. Purchase ingredients to cook your own feast or enjoy fresh seafood or varied international meals at the island’s more than 120 restaurants. Boat to Buck Island Reef National Monument for snorkeling and scuba diving.
The U.S. Virgin Islands offer numerous options for a romantic proposal, wedding or honeymoon. Remember to drive your “just married” rental car on the left side of the road. U.S. citizens do not need passports to travel here. Fly to St. Thomas or St. Croix or sail on a Caribbean charter or luxury cruise boat.

I love the room very spacious and very clean .. I liked everything about it
Beautiful beaches line this property from all directions! The property is undergoing renovations but they still try very hard to accommodate and make you as comfortable as possible. The food gave us all upset stomachs but we made sure to let the kitchen know. We would definitely stay here again. ...
The resort was very committed to keeping the entire hotel safe and compliant with all of the regulations during COVID. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay a wonderful experience.
They are under construction. But what they have opened is great
This is a little family owned gem in the Historic district of Charlotte Amalie. The food at Sugarcane Grill is excellent, the complimentary cooked to order breakfast is so great with a smile. This family truly has a servant’s heart! Anything we needed all we had to do was to ask. At night the mini ...
My girlfriend and I absolutely loved the resort and grounds. What a fabulous week!!
The hotel is under construction; but doesn’t bother. It is in the city near to restaurants, shops, ferry... The room was very clean, beds very comfortable (full size bed), the ocean bay view was awesome. The bathroom was clean, but the shower needs updates. Will stay again for a quick trip.
The Good: We really loved the view from our room. It was actually surreal and the activities were amazing. We did a sunset catamaran cruise and the boat staff was so incredible! It was everything we wanted to experience. The resort has so many water sports to engage in and the gentleman who runs ...
