We went to Bear mountain to snowboard and it is a little far but possible for those who don’t mind the drive. The cabin had everything we needed and some fun hills out side for sledding. Jan 23, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, communication Disliked: Check-in #### Accident waiting to happen, deceiving pictures, unusually dark inside Sunday before our arrival, we received news that a family member who had been on hospice since Oct'23, was expected to pass within the next 24 hours and if that was indeed to happen, the ceremony would take place sometime on the weekend of our trip. We had no intention of canceling our trip, we simply wanted to rebook for another upcoming weekend. Management flat out refused, and offered no ideas on how to even begin to work with us. Thank goodness the ceremony was scheduled for Sunday at 2:30pm. Be aware if any type of emergency arises, you are absolutely out of luck. Their $125+ a night isn't worth letting you attend to your unexpected event, and rebook for a later date. About the Home: The Good- place was fairly clean, the bed felt clean, the couches were comfortable, and overall my family had a good time. The Bad- The place is an accident waiting to happen. Our Toyota Highlander struggled to get to the house due to the angle of the driveway that was covered in pine needles. If there's ANY snow whatsoever, forget about it, you're parking down the street around the corner about 100 yards away. The stairs up to the home were sketchy at best. I can't imagine bringing older unsteady family up those stairs in the snow. (look at pics) The handrail provided was absolutely useless as it was a standard 2x4 with the high probability of getting a splinter if you needed to use it. Overall, place felt dangerous, and the management had zero sympathy for our family emergency. ##### HALONA C. The cabin itself it quite cute and fit our family needs well. The access is a bit steep but knew this going in. The cabin is spacious for its size and dog friendly. The kitchen was loaded with tons of cookware and utensils...a plus from my perspective. Comfy couch, chairs on the deck and seating for six at a dining room table. Great natural light throughout. Disappointments were in a few minor things that added up to a big bummer. The gas had been off when we arrived, so had to deal with coordinating of the gas company on a Sunday evening arrival. Bad first five hour start to a two night stay. Once on, everything gas related was fine. Just an inconsiderate mishap that could have been avoided since we learned that the gas had been shut off for a month! The Wifi password was incorrect on the rental information, which required rental management personnel to come and troubleshoot. Also, internet was spotty at best even with a new router installed. The master bedroom had two lamps but only one light bulb. Bedroom televisions were not plugged in and outlet half way up the wall! Dining room chairs were not screwed together all the way, so almost fell. Nothing major (except the gas) but the little things added up to a not stellar experience. The rental management company, Vacasa, was extremely responsive and polite with every interaction. I would rent from them again in a heartbeat.
