Run down a bit at the heels

Posted 18-Sep-2016
PRO: convenient to metro, felt safe, room and linens were clean. CON: Front desk staff were uneven. Restaurant closed with no explanation and bartenders indifferent to say the least. Air conditioning sub-par. Hotel access a nightmare due to road repair; no acknowledgment or apology. SUMMARY: Business traveler could crash at alot worse places but the hotel is not 4 stars for leisure traveler.

Fantastic Location

Posted 16-Sep-2016
This hotel is perfect for a weekend visit to Montreal. It's right beside the main shopping street so plenty of restaurants, bars and shops to keep you entertained. The hotel itself is very clean and well kept. The staff are lovely also, any questions we had were answered and help was always offered.

Good Value, Central Location

Posted 13-Sep-2016
This hotel is downtown, close to the Museum of Fine Arts, which we walked to and visited. There are many shops and restaurants nearby as well. The hotel offers good value and everyone on the staff was friendly. The room was clean and quiet.

Great location

Great hotel! Clean, efficient, super helpful and friendly staff and a fantastic location right downtown practically on the McGill campus and a block from the metro. This was our first time in Montreal and we couldn't have had a better stay!

Not up to Best Western Level of Service

Posted 25-Aug-2016
Pros: Love the Down Town Scene in Montreal !
Cons: Customer Service !
Hotel staff did not delivery luggage to room as promised. Waited half hour with no luggage. Called front desk and advised it would be delivered immediately. Waited another half hour and nothing arrived. Finally I went down to lobby to find our luggage was sitting in same location as when when we arrived. I took luggage and proceed to our room. Only comment from front desk was "sorry". Note, lobby was NOT busy at the time.. approx. 4pm. On day of leaving we called for elevator to our 16th. floor room. No elevator. Turns out they put the guest elevator " on service" while they handle busy luggage period. This elevator only serves floors 16 - 19. but they should never put the customer at this type of inconvenience.... At least they could put a note on each floor involved advising of this situation.... Another example, called front desk after "house keeping" didn't answer phone.. I was requesting four drinking glasses as there were none in our room. Front desk sent up four paper cups...Come on folks! show a little class! This is Montreal after all ! The above reflects services WELL BELOW Best Western Standards.. J.D. Cochrane

Nice hotel, good price for being downtown.

Posted 10-Aug-2016
Really enjoyed our stay. We had a huge room with 2 queen beds and had a sitting area. Air conditioning was good but noisy. Bathroom had a very nice tub and was very clean. Room key didn't work a couple times but we always had the other one. The first day we were there our room wasn't cleaned, but we used the "please clean room" sign every other day and it was done. Probably just over looked. The price was good for downtown but still kinda expensive. The parking adds up as well. Would stay there again though.

Mediocre Hotel

Posted 8-Aug-2016
Pros: The location.
Cons: Have both a valet parking person and a concierge. Don't have the same person doing both jobs. If you hire a concierge ensure they are knowledgeable.
Location: The hotel is close to the Museum of Art, St. Catherine's, Old Montreal, the Metro and restaurants.
The standard queen room was very small. The parking valet and concierge are the same person and they only have one person doing both jobs at any one time, so people are left waiting for one service or another. Because this is not really a concierge service the staff were not helpful at booking tours or answering questions about other attractions. When we arrived there was hair in the bath tub from the previous inhabitant or from the maid. There was no conditioner and when we asked for some we were told that we had to ask at the front desk for it. The rooms do have a clean and functioning fridge, easy to operate thermostat, and very comfortable beds. The hotel is in a great location, close to the Metro and other attractions. If you are okay fending for yourself it is not bad, but if you require a lot of help or are anticipating a real concierge - this is not the place.
