Beautiful house in a beautiful location

Lovely space.

Great location - all conveniences of home . Owner very helpful and available. Comfortable queen bed in master bedroom and twin bed in second bedroom. Onsite parking which is a plus in Mill Valley. I'll be back!

Quiet, charming neighborhood minutes from downtown Mill Valley

I was there in early August 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location is a 5-10 min walk to the center of town, and very close to trails. You can walk, bike, stroll or hike right from your door. Grant, the owner, is very nice and responsive if you need assistance. I love the fact that the place is dog friendly too! Mill Valley is a great town with everything you should need during your stay - great dining, boutiques, banks, Whole Foods, exercise studios and much more. Great stay!

Comfortable, Central and True Mill Valley!

My husband and I rented Eat, Pray, Bike for for three months as we transitioned from our Mill Valley home to Europe. Victoria and Grant our hosts are great people and accommodated us and welcomed us fully.The place was perfect for having a central location in beautiful Mill Valley. The appliances, lay out, linens and kitchen supplies met our needs. I recommend a stay if you want a lovely garden, great restaurants nearby and an overall central location to one of California's hidden gems. M S and KB

Great location, really comfortable cottage

This is a really convenient location for Mill Valley - 10 minute walk to Whole Foods / Miller Ave shops, 10 minute walk to downtown. Plus, there is a park right across the street. The cottage itself is nice and comfortable, stocked with everything we needed. Lots of good kitchen supplies, which came in handy for my Thanksgiving baking. There were 4 of us, so it was a bit of a tight squeeze, but overall a very pleasant stay.

Loved my stay here!

The apartment is a great location for everything in Mill Valley. There is a bike port that housed my bike that I brought but they have to mountain bikes for use as well. ITHe apartment is part of their home but has it's own entrance and yard and a silencer between their part and the apartment and I never heard anything from their part of the house. The apartment is small but very well done and had everything I needed. The bed was really comfortable. Victoria invited me to join her biking group and that was such an act of kindness and changed my entire trip. I was there for a month and looking to make friends and she paved the way for me. One night there was supposed to be a big storm and she wrote me with asking how they could help me be prepared. Grant ended up taking me all the way to the bus on my last day which was so sweet of him. I really can't say enough about their hospitality and yet I never really saw them so I felt like I was really in my own private home. There is a garden in the apartment area and I had fresh Kale and tomatoes. The washer and driver was in the garage which was really so convenient to the apartment. They worked so fast I couldn't believe it. I really had a great month. I walked to town everyday which is the beauty of the location. You can't go wrong with this property.

A welcome retreat!

We loved this wonderful retreat - where zen meets modern. It was so close to all the things we wanted to do in the area and some excellent shopping and restaurants nearby. Thank you, Grant, for a wonderful experience!!

We rented this apartment for a full month and it was a great location to to call home base. So much to do in Mill Valley and surrounding area as far as hiking, biking, camping - you name it Marin County has it. The location of the apartment was very convenient for walking to any part of town to enjoy dinner and pick up groceries etc. Lots of parks nearby to walk the dog and enjoy the outdoors.

It was perfectly located away from the city but close enough to make it a sightseeing day trip and close to the Red Woods park. I would rent it again. The house is located in a nice neighborhood and ir was clean.

Relaxing accomodation in Mill Valley

This exceptionally decorated 2 BR apartment in Mill Valley is a part of a bigger house, but has its own entrance, patio and little garden. It is located close to the Town Square, where are multiple restaurants, but on a tranquil street. If you are curious how it feels to be a resident of this exceptional community, you would certainly enjoy your stay. Especially that the owners take interest in who you are and are more than willing to advise about the best activity for you. On the other hand there is as much privacy as you desire. I found the bed very comfortable and the kitchen practical, modern, well equipped to do your own cooking. I enjoyed the tomatoes from the garden! The location is very practical for many nature walks in the area, also has an easy access to Hi 101, Larkspur Ferry to SF and Hi 1 for the Pacific Ocean views. Overall I know the area very well, stayed in many hotels in Marin County, but felt this was more enjoyable and would like to return.

Très agréable

Joli 3 pièces près du centre ville de Mill Valley, au calme. Très propre, petite cuisine américaine bien équipée malgré seulement deux chaises pour la table, belle terrasse avec grande table et barbecue pour les beaux jours. Deux belles chambres et une grandes salle de bain (ne pas hésiter à demander des serviettes supplémentaires). Propriétaires charmants et très disponibles. Nous étions trois adultes et avons passé un très agréable séjour.

Good for some, not for me

This would be a good place for someone who wants to spend a lot of time biking, hiking, exploring the area, and shopping--that is, not spending all that much time at the apartment, which is nicely appointed but somewhat dark and rather small. The heading says "Sleeps five." You'd be tripping over each other. There is outdoor space, but it is a concrete patio behind a garage, not all that pleasant. There is a dog door, but only a teacup Yorkie would fit through it. The owners, I'm sure, are pleasant and interesting people, as noted in the other reviews, but they did not greet me, nor did they even seem to know I was there. The apartment adjoins their house, and the door to it wasn't locked, so I walked right into their kitchen. Very embarrassing. So if you choose this spot (nice location, big tv, new kitchen fixtures, though the fridge was not on and contained someone else's leftovers), make sure the owners know when you're coming, and ask a lot of questions to make sure it's right for you.

Great, Well Set Up, Welcoming Home

I moved from NYC and stayed here for the first month as I looked for a more permanent home. I contemplated offering to stay on it was such a great experience. It's beautifully set up and really allowed me to settle in a feel at home. Veronica and Grant were gracious hosts - respecting privacy but offering up their garden for delicious treats and giving me tips on where to go and what to see. I would absolutely recommend this property if you're exploring Marin county and looking for a place to call home for a bit.

Peaceful, beautiful retreat with delightful hosts

Grant and Victoria's lovely hideaway and caring hospitality in Mill Valley soothed my tired senses after a busy day of travel and gigging. I was so grateful to find them just in the nick of time. It was obviously meant to be! My only regret is that my one night was not nearly enough time to sample all the lovely options offered. Everything is as described in this listing, if not better. The unit has high ceilings, simple, restful decor and a spacious feeling. It feels like a really gracious, compact two-bedroom apartment outfitted with everything you need and lots of things you didn't know you wanted. Everything was clean as a whistle, even though they had absolutely zero notice of my coming and were kind enough to host me very last minute. The queen bed and bedding is wonderfully comfortable. Tidy folks like me will enjoy the storage in the master bedroom. It has a sizable closet full of hangers and shelves ready to tuck away your things. I was not there long enough to enjoy the kitchen amenities except to admire their elegance. The bathroom is normal sized, but I loved the feel of the high ceilings in there. The shower head is also very high. Excellent for tall folks. The water temp varied a bit in while showering; nothing dramatic. I'm terribly paranoid because I lived in a house that would scald you if somebody flushed a toilet while you were showering. This was nothing like that. Just check with Grant about that when you arrive if you've any concern. At night, I appreciated the quiet. I loved the soothing atmosphere and the spirit of the apartment and the main home. The vibe is lovely and peaceful. I had a great time talking with Grant about all sorts of things. He made a delicious breakfast in the morning, after which I took his advice to go hiking on Mt. Tam, which is visible from the windows. The poppies were a-bloom and the hillsides were grand and gorgeous. I'll look forward to staying with Grant and Victoria's again. If you're seeking a beautiful sanctuary in one of the most beautiful places on earth, give their place a look. Highly recommended!

An absolutely fantastic stay

My time here was nothing short of excellent. Due to my schedule I tend not to go out of my way to write reviews when I travel, so it says something that I'm taking the time to write this. The owner was extremely warm, courteous and helpful. The space itself was beautiful, warm, clean and well appointed. I quite simply loved it. There was this wonderful zen feel to the place, yet everything was highly functional as well. The location is excellent with convenient access to Southern Marin county, the beautiful quaint downtown Mill Valley area, hiking trails, local restaurants, Mt. Tamalpais itself and of course the greater Bay Area. The listing above is indeed accurate. I actually decided to try a neurofeedback session that the hosts offer and was quite pleased with the results. I loved the heated floors, the lighting and the wooded and sweet feel of the neighborhood. It was a wonderful place to "home base" while I was out and about and during the time I stayed home to focus on work I found it to be a quite useful retreat environment. The space has a versatility that is well suited to work, play and romance. If you opt to stay here, I hope you'll enjoy your time as much as I did.

Retreat-Like Accommodations/Wonderful Hosts

I can't say enough great things about Victoria and Grant. I've stayed with them several times, once was for 3 months. They are wonderful people -- heartful, generous, considerate, respectful, and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable (I have environmental sensitivities and they were amazing in this regard). They are friendly and yet have wonderful boundaries and a respect for privacy and quiet. Each time I stayed there I felt grateful for the experience, and for knowing these two dear people. Also -- the neighborhood is great. Two Whole Foods Stores close by, a wonderful town to hang out in, and Mt. Tam is in your backyard. I recommend visiting Green Gulch Zen Center (beautiful gardens), Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Point Reyes National Seashore, Mt. Tam, S.F., etc., etc.
