The property is really flirting with the line between historic and rundown. Check in and check out we’re good. Restaurant staff were lacking in skill and manners, especially in a luxury hotel. There was supposed to be a bottle of champagne waiting for us on arrival but they forgot which was a bit disappointing. The neighbourhood is great but it isn’t really walkable and it’s a bit of a hike to find decent food or drinks. Tonga bar is a weird vibe and service is very slow even though there weren’t a lot of people there. We enjoyed our stay but we’ll probably look elsewhere for our next visit to San Francisco.

My only complaint was that the baby crib we had requested was not already in the room when we arrived. We had to wait about 45 minutes for it to be delivered and upon arrival, we noticed it had numerous bite marks all around the top edge. The crib was functional but esthetically very unpleasant.

I checked in the night before 4 th of July. They assigned me room which was located on 3 rd floor. First of all the carpet was very smelly and then I found out that my shower is not working. So next day Diana changed my room.thanks to her,very professional nice lady. 2 nd room was nice and lean o my problem was that the housekeeper never cleaned my room and I stayed for 4 days. I mentioned that to Diana before check out and she was very surprised and she said that she will report the issue to manager. Overall everyone should know that they don’t have self parking and valet parking is $88 daily plus 35$ daily for resort fee plus they charge $ 5.81 daily urban fee . And also hotel does not have central AC. For 4 days I paid $1021 for hotel plus add the rest of the charges for parking and other expenses not worth staying at this place there are more nicer and cheaper hotels to stay around.We went to Tonga Room for dinner they are charging $15 per person for sitting and after few drinks they know that you might not even look at the bill for 2 people they charge gratuity and I was surprised and I ask the lady if the tip is included she said yes but you want you can pay extra. Overall very bad experience never staying here again.The only person that I am thankful is DIana at reception desk.

A luxurious stay in San Francisco. The hotel is placed on one of the city’s hills so not accessible by foot, but easily accessible by car, Uber or autonomous taxis. The in-house Tonga Room bar was the highlight of our stay. Make sure not to miss that.

We had a wonderful stay easy, check-in comfortable beds, and overall a BEAUTIFUL historic hotel! We only stayed one night wish we could’ve stayed longer, but we will definitely return. Beautiful lobby area a little shopping, two bars and a restaurant in the hotel..
