Note that they will charge randomly. When checking out, they say that there is no charge, and then there will be several unexplained charges on the credit card.
This is a gorgeous palatial property but unfortunately very very very poorly managed. I arrived late at 12:00 am. There was no doorman or bellman. No one at the door. Had to carry my own luggage. Entering the room there were: No slippers, no dental kit, no shaving kit, the light in the walk in closet didn’t work. One of the desk lamps was sort of broken. There was amazing amount of dust on the safe. I Had to call the facility with a looong hold time to fix the light and get the supplies which took 30 min while I could have been sleeping. No water in the room. And I found out that in this gorgeous but cheap hotel their policy is that they won’t give it to you unless you asked for it which is Extreeeemly annoying. I’ve travelled 74 countries and stayed in numerous Fairmont hotels including Fairmont tents in Kenya This was my only and the absolute worst
experience. But the property is gorgeous and the restaurant is great. They reduced my bill, but as I told the management I don’t care about that, they have a systemic cheapness issue that is not tolerable for a Fairmont and they need to fix it, so that another mid night passenger doesn’t have to stay up another hour to fix hi/her room.
The room was a bit dated but clean and perfectly fine. The checkin/out experience was good.
Very limited restaurant and bar hours and selection of food for a Fairmont hotel. I had an afternoon meeting and no drinks, alcoholic or not were available. Everything was closed.
Also be on the lookout for an undisclosed “urban” fee of $30 per day.
