"The best hotel in the world. I’ve stayed many a place on the top 50 hotels but this one is the best by far that I have experienced. I’ve never experienced better service, care, and attention to detail. The architecture was a true work of art. The cuisine superb, ambiance 10/10."

"The location was centrally located and easily accessible by taxi/uber. Staff were helpful. The rooms were somewhat dated but comfortable enough. Breakfast was pleasant, but it felt as if they may have been understaffed. The two pools were nice and the upstairs rooftop bar was the best."

I chose this hotel after reading its excellent reviews and, honesty, it far exceeds all reviews!
If you want to stay in the "medina" then this is the place to pick
From the minute you arrive, they welcome you with milk, dates, and traditional cookies
The manager, mr. Antonio, sits with you & gives you some tips, and tricks, to "surviving" the medina
The hotel room smells gorgeous ( rose water)
Keep in mind that, because it's a riad, there are no windows nor a tv in the room

Best riad I have ever stayed in my whole morocco trip. Room is clean and well organized. Our flight was early morning next day and staff booked a taxi for me which arrived on time very happy for that. Staff made extra effort in the morning since we’re going to miss our breakfast they prepared us small bags for each person which contains drinks, yoghurt and local snacks. I am very satisfied with my stay at this property.

A truly authentic experience. Luxury in the heart of Marrakech, if you are going to Marrakech to experience its diversity and uniqueness and have the budget for such a hotel I would highly recommend to book the Riad Kniza (if its not all booked up that is as it sells out very fast).
The owner Mohammed helped us greatly with an early check-in without issues as we had problems with another hotel. They were accommodating and welcoming. As if you were in someones home as a guest.

We had a lovely stay at Riad Ilayka The staff were attentive and helpful, especially Rimy, Reda and Abdul who treated us and our 1 year old daughter so well. The location was amazing, central near the souks and Jema el Fnaa but the inside was so quiet and peaceful. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked great. The only suggestion would be to add a shower curtain to the shower area since it would get the floor wet (not sure if this was just our room). We enjoyed a delicious dinner and dessert...

When is the best time to go to Medina?
The best time to visit the Medina in Marrakech is during the shoulder seasons of spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when the weather is most pleasant.
During these months, the temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius, which is ideal for exploring the bustling souks and historic sites without the intense heat of summer. You'll find it's easier to navigate the narrow alleys and enjoy activities like visiting the Bahia Palace or exploring the Jardin Secret.
For those who prefer slightly cooler temperatures and fewer crowds, late autumn (October and November) can be particularly appealing. The days are still sunny, and the evenings are crisp, great for enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner on a rooftop terrace overlooking the Djemaa el-Fna. This period offers a relaxed pace, making it great for couples looking for a romantic getaway.
Conversely, the summer months (June to August) bring very high temperatures, often exceeding 35 degrees Celsius, which can make sightseeing uncomfortable. The winter (December to February) can be quite chilly, especially in the evenings, though daytime temperatures are generally mild.
