"Very friendly and helpful staff, nice room…very comfortable and spacious. I especially loved that large bathroom with its great shower! I loved the location of the place…very walkable to museums and the theater district. And the cafe next door has excellent food…we ate there every day ( twice for breakfast and once for lunch!"

"Some may find this hotel a little "old school", but it's dependable, clean, efficient, and well located. There are so many reviews of hotels in the downtown area that are all over the place...we went back here in 2025 after staying there in 2016, and they were on top of everything. Room could have been a tiny bit bigger, but hey, it's downtown Chicago...view was nice, room was clean and quiet, restaurant/bar area was clean and breakfast buffet was nice, and check in/out was simple. YMMV, but for *our* mileage, we'll always stay here when were in DT Chicago."

"Muriel at the front desk was extremely helpful and courteous, wonderful historic art deco building right on Michigan Ave., great location and views, really nice, spacious and clean room. Chateau Carbide on the 24th floor is definitely worth checking out, nice cozy areas to hang out, sit on a couch and have a drink while enjoying great views of the city. We also got a free ride from the hotel to the Shedd Aquarium."
