"Very quiet hotel - great for sleeping."
Other than the hotel failed for the duration of our trip failed to get our in room safe working this hotel is fantastic. The hotel is in a great location, about two blocks from a subway station. The area the hotel is in never feels unsafe. The are a few food options within a couple of block of the hotel. With only 4 rooms per floor as long as the guests on your level are consideration the hotel is one of the quietest we have ever stayed at. You would not expect to hear no traffic noise at night in NYC, (some rooms may be noisier our room faced away from the railway line. The the room was on the small size (as you you would expect in NYC unless you were playing a fortune) it contains all you need. Whilst no coffee/tea making is available in the room you have a small fridge and are able to access hot drinks from the lobby 24/7. The breakfast offers a good selection. The hotel room was very modern and other than the safe everything worked. Whilst the initial welcome we received on arrival at the hotel was a bot frosty after the initial arrival the safe were friendly and easy to deal with. Safe yourself a fortune stay at this hotel and get a multi-day subway pass rather than staying in the heart of NYC.

"Possibly best views of Manhattan Island"
Z Hotel is a little far from the bulk of attractions and things to do in NYC, however this worry was overshadowed by the views we got from our room on the 10th floor. The view at night of the Manhattan skyline was almost unreal, with the Queensboro Bridge in full view on our right. The area, being predominantly industrial, is relatively quiet and safe and we had no trouble walking to subway stations which were at most 10mins away, and there are convenience stores nearby. It is close to MoMA PS1 and a few amazing restaurants: Mu Ramen and Dutch Kills. It is also close to Tom Cat bakery whose aroma of baked bread fills the streets in the morning! The hotel room is adequate and comfortable, and staff are friendly.

"Fresh"
First time staying in LIC and the Paper Factory made it all the more enjoyable. Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely room (mine overlooked the courtyard) with great amenities (toiletries, hairdryer, comfy bed, large desk, flat screen, safe, etc). Even windows that open - a perk and a plus. Wide open corridors. Excellent common spaces (24 fitness center, lounge, conference room w/ a ping-pong table). Across the street from the subway and easy access to car2go, taxis, etc. Ate at Mundo as well, which was fun and delicious. Two blocks to: an excellent breakfast place, a beer garden, and Starbucks. Walking distance/quick cab to: Williamsburg, Astoria, and Laguardia. Have already booked in my next visit.

"Good Hotel - Location not convenient"
This was a good hotel. Nice view of the Queens bridge and of the city from the upper floors (not below 4th floor). Staff was friendly and rooms spacious. The hotel only offers one restaurant with a limited menu that may not be to everyone's taste. There are no restaurants close by but the hotel does have a courtesy shuttle to and from an area that offers more restaurant options. The nearest train station is also not walking distance but the hotel also offers the shuttle to and from the station up to 10:30pm. We returned after that time one evening and we struggled to get a taxi or Uber - not ideal if you are traveling with children.

"Nice room, friendly staff"
For a 2 star hotel, the room was very nice, comparable to at least a 3* hotel. Staff was very polite, professional, friendly. Breakfast was also good. In general very good value for the money.

"Perfect Hostel in a Beautiful City"
This was the first time I stayed in a hostel and the first time I went to the big city alone. The staff was nice, the rooms were clean and the ladies I shared a room with were very nice as well. If you are a person who doesn't like noise at night please bring ear plugs. The city is a busy place. All in all a great trip! The price you couldn't beat in an area that was extremely beautiful. I know a lot of construction was going on but I went to the Grantry Plaza State Park and it was beyond beautiful. Perfect photos of the city buildings and the water. I even recommend going to the LIC Flea Market they put on during the weekends. I only stayed one night but it was a great experience.

"DO NOT get a room in the front of the hotel-noisy"
Industrial chic.....cool place......needs exhaust fans in the bathrooms and a table on BOTH sides of the bed. My husband was setting his water and glasses on the floor ...... not good. Also no insulation in this place so the you can hear the doors slam at night. They need something on the doors to keep them from slamming. Our place had a balcony, but nowhere to sit......why have it? Our room was in the front and on Monday at 4am we heard garbage trucks, delivery trucks, alarms, horns.......Noise control in the front at night has to be a priority. When they fix these things and get a pool and rooftop bar, it will be great. Bed is comfortable, but the lack of comfort in the rest of the room ruined it. Example one small steel chair......

"Budget friendly hotel close to the city"
Stayed here for two nights during a visit to NYC. The hotel offered the best rate that we could find - the space to price ratio was way better than anything we could find in Manhattan and the rates were cheaper than Airbnb also. Location was amazing as it was less than a 5 minute walk to the subway station and the subway was only one stop from NYC. Room was comfortable and clean - the only complaint is that the soundproofing between the hallway is quite weak (got woken up a few times by people closing doors early in the morning).
