"Very quiet hotel - great for sleeping."
Other than the hotel failed for the duration of our trip failed to get our in room safe working this hotel is fantastic. The hotel is in a great location, about two blocks from a subway station. The area the hotel is in never feels unsafe. The are a few food options within a couple of block of the hotel. With only 4 rooms per floor as long as the guests on your level are consideration the hotel is one of the quietest we have ever stayed at. You would not expect to hear no traffic noise at night in NYC, (some rooms may be noisier our room faced away from the railway line. The the room was on the small size (as you you would expect in NYC unless you were playing a fortune) it contains all you need. Whilst no coffee/tea making is available in the room you have a small fridge and are able to access hot drinks from the lobby 24/7. The breakfast offers a good selection. The hotel room was very modern and other than the safe everything worked. Whilst the initial welcome we received on arrival at the hotel was a bot frosty after the initial arrival the safe were friendly and easy to deal with. Safe yourself a fortune stay at this hotel and get a multi-day subway pass rather than staying in the heart of NYC.

"Awesome views "
We enjoyed our stay at Z NYC. It's a boutique hotel with amazing views of the Manhattan cityscape and Queensborough Bridge. It's also affordable, the staff are all very friendly, helpful and accommodating, and the restaurant served delicious meals. The free shuttle service was what we appreciated the most next to the views because it was a convenient way to get us to where all the action was in Manhattan. The service was available every day from 7:30am to 11:30pm. It would have been very difficult to commute via subway late at night in that area with all our shopping and a taxi ride would set you back just over $20 one way. Negatives would be that although the rooms had everything we needed (except for coffee/tea making facilities) and were very clean, they were on the small side, very compact. There are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room so we had to order our late night dessert and coffee deliveries from a nearby restaurant (as the hotel restaurant had already closed). There's no fitness/gym room or pool/spa/sauna area in the hotel but that was ok with us. No walkable convenient stores or restaurants nearby. But all in all, the hotel had everything we needed for our stay and we had a great stay. Where the hotel lacked by way of nearby convenient stores and restaurants, the staff made up for - the shuttle driver was kind enough to make a short detour to grab water from the store and reception gave delivery options from a really good restaurant closeby.

"Nicely designed "
The hotel was nice but the front staff was rude and unpleasant. The games and activities were great in theory but pieces were missing. The restaurant was great and the staff there was fantastic. Room was comfortable and well designed.

"Nice hotel"
I liked this hotel I recommend getting the one with the balcony it has a nice view of the skyscrapers and the bridge and the train stations were around the corner. When I first came in they were doing some remodeling on the side but once they were done it looked nice and clean. The girls got my information wrong the first time but they were friendly, professional and had great customer service, they tried to quickly get me my room so I didn't even mind the rest. There was someone on the desk 24/7 and we're always happy to answer any questions! Even when there was an upset guest and my bf came downstairs to grab a drink they stayed professional and friendly they even gave him the drink for free for making him wait a few minutes! Thanks! Housekeeping came everyday and did a great job keeping my room clean. Another thing I liked, even though I wouldn't wake up on time for it, was that they offer breakfast in the morning! Nice! Overall I really liked the service and I had a great stay!

"Bad Furniture"
After asking, as always, for a comfortable chair 9n the room, I had a very uncomfortable chair. I stay at City View because I need a good chair to sleep in for health reasons and they are always great. I guess they bought new furniture to "update" and it is terrible. Bring back the old furniture.

"Perfect Hostel in a Beautiful City"
This was the first time I stayed in a hostel and the first time I went to the big city alone. The staff was nice, the rooms were clean and the ladies I shared a room with were very nice as well. If you are a person who doesn't like noise at night please bring ear plugs. The city is a busy place. All in all a great trip! The price you couldn't beat in an area that was extremely beautiful. I know a lot of construction was going on but I went to the Grantry Plaza State Park and it was beyond beautiful. Perfect photos of the city buildings and the water. I even recommend going to the LIC Flea Market they put on during the weekends. I only stayed one night but it was a great experience.

Nice. Different. Chic yet minimalist. Awkward standing and towering over employee at check in. Only one person checking people in or out.
