"It's OK."
It's fine if you are transiting or there for a short stay. A little run down but acceptable. Restaurant is good when it's open. If not there are restaurants within walking distance.

"Meets minimum requirements for a decent hotel"
Parking was free but filled up each night; out of 4 nights there, I only got to park in the hotel lot 1 night (other nights I had to park on the street). Restaurant and lounge onsite.

"Fun with 7 year olds"
Auntie's beach house is great to drop off the kids and for some adult alone time. Kids need to be potty trained and between 3-12 (?) Transportation to the resort was frustrating, I would suggest taking a cab instead of waiting for the booked shuttle. I really enjoyed our family time on the beach and loved the free Boogie Board use as well as sand toys for the kids. The water slides were fun as well as the lazy river. We went in Oct. so it wasn't too crowded. I heard Feb. is also a good time to visit. Food was not impressive and way too expensive at the on site restaurants. We went across the street to eat and LOVED the ice cream at Two Scoops and the ABC store for daily essentials like cereal, beverages, and snacks. Our room was cozy, but comfortable. I LOVED the shower and the mini fridge, sink, coffee maker, and toaster.

"Expeceted Disney experience"
The resort is beautiful , reminded me of the Polynesian resort in Orlando. The service is exemplary at every level, from check-in & luggage delivery to the daily housekeeping and lifeguards at the pool. I originally reserved a 2 queen standard room because both Expedia & Aulani's own web page stated no villas were available. I was able to be upgraded to a villa on check-in. I highly recommend staying in a 1-BDR villa: eating out every meal gets expensive and the full kitchen in the villa allowed our family to eat a healthier breakfast every morning. It was also nice to have access to a washing machine/dryer for laundry. The resort is extremely crowded, most noticeable in wait times to check-in and lines for the water slides at the pool. There is a small shopping area across the street with an ABC Store for souvenirs, restaurant, clothing boutique, ice cream shop, etc. The resort area of Ko Alina is about 30 minutes away from Waikiki with no traffic and much less crowded.

"We love Marriott's KoOlina Beach Club!"
Even better room than the last time, with a wonderful ocean view. Lovely dinner at the steakhouse, unfortunately we missed the breakfast cut off at Longboard's. It would have been nice to have a late checkout but we made the most of our day. We got married the day before at Ka`ena Point so we just relaxed and enjoyed the pools. Always pleasant to come to Ko`Olina.

"Beautiful and tranquil experience"
After four nights at Disney's Aulani, we were looking for an experience far away from the glitz and crowds of Waikiki and the leeward side of Oahu. Paradise Bay Resort was perfect. Peaceful and relaxing, but with access to recreation (kayaks and SUP) and with a fantastic view of part of Kane'ohe Bay and the Koolau Mountains. The resort staff are very friendly and accommodating. Dinner nights are small and intimate, with Chef Pedro appearing to introduce his dishes. Some reviewers have expressed uncertainty about the neighborhood. It's simple. Rather than being in the midst of hotel high-rises and overpriced shopping that you can find in ANY resort area, Paradise Bay Resort is embedded in a typical Hawaiian residential neighborhood. You might make friends with a local dog, as we did, and please make sure to check under your rental car for snoozing kitties. It's rustic. It's beautiful. It's Hawai'i.

Aston at the Executive Centre Hotel

1088 Bishop St, Honolulu - Map
"Perfect for our last night"
I chose the Aston for our last night in Honolulu as we only needed one night's stay between flights from the international airport. The hotel was a little confusing to find the entry but there were lots of people around that pointed us into the right direction. The room we had was massive with a stunning view of the harbor and mountains, with a really comfy bed. I would not recommend to stay here for more than 1/2 nights if holidaying or if you have a young family as it is more a city environment.

"Enjoyed our stay but suggest A/C for summer months"
Some nice aspects to these units but the major downside for us during the summer was not having air conditioning, which with 3 kids we wished we would have more strongly considered. The area has a nice rustic feel. The owner has made good efforts to make the hotel welcoming and modernized the kitchen and bathroom. With the heat of summer, windows needed to be open all the time, reducing a sense of privacy and there was plenty of noise throughout the nights from other tenants and neighbors.
