"Unsure what makes this an eco retreat aside from the fact they ask you to bring your own water bottle to refill with water they provide and there is no hot water for showers. The property has a lot of potential but it felt maybe slightly neglected. There was a lot of debris on the ground, the kitchen area was really dirty and the room had rusty racks and shower curtains that allowed water to spray out all over the floor. "Secluded large space, used to be a boutique hotel with now four rooms open/in use. Kids loved roaming around the property with the two horses being the fence and swimming in the pool with the beautiful views of the volcano Older property that fell a bit into disrepair, not the cheapest, but really responsive host who sent out the cleaning crew one more time Really relaxing, with hot springs just 5-10 minute drive away, we really enjoyed!"

"Small, cozy, friendly, quiet....we stayed for a month in the jungle of Guanacaste with Gary and his dog, Wally! The pool is wonderfully shady in the afternoons, Gary is a warm and friendly host, helpful and kind. We were looking for someplace near to beaches, great sunsets, and no crowds....meeting the locals, shopping the local markets, etc. This is the perfect spot to just sit back and relax."
