The deck is a great place overlooking what we viewed as a bird sanctuary above and beyond Hat Creek We did see river otters once, and deer every day in the front yard. Caught two nice trout with minimal fishing. It was a heat wave while there, but the AC worked fine. Linda Bowers was beyond good as host. The place is much larger than it appears in the photos and it is well-furnished with a retro hunting/fishing cabin vibe. Our family, ranging from teens to grandparents, stayed in mid-July. Lots of beds and hang out spaces for a large family gathering. The place was perfectly clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed BBQing our fresh-caught trout on the huge deck with view of the stream and mountains. The location for fishing couldn't be better. We caught lots of stocked rainbow trout behind the cabin and at the nearby dam and Baum Lake... these areas are also good for kids and older folks with mobility issues. There's also world-class fly fishing water just downriver past the PG&E powerhouse. The hosts were great. Responsive to communication and they had a nice welcome treat ready for us and a binder with info about the house and the neighborhood. We'll definitely book here again! ##### Matt H.
