Undercover Boss Needs to Visit!

Posted 2-Sep-2014
Pros: Very litttle
Cons: all that I complained about
Location: the shopping center had a wonderful mix of retail establishments.
The front desk was always professional. Based on the room and weekend that I stayed, I am most unhappy. Housekeeping was less than and the lack of ventilation in the bathroom created an unhealthy condition. Our bed linens were nothing like those referenced in one of the PR pieces. This was the first time ever that I left no tip for housekeeping. The service was so bad that a tip would have left the wrong message and therefore validated poor service. We could have made an informed decision had it been clearly advertised that dogs were allowed. I counted 7 and heard one bark almost incessantly. At check out, I was only charged for one night with many apologies. I did contact the hotel prior to this post.

Over all opinion of my experience at La Quinta

Posted 1-Sep-2014
First, would I stay there again? Yes. Why? For the price we paid, I couldnt of gotten a better place so made it all worth it. The hotel front desk staff was extremely courteous, greT customer service. Shout out for front desk staff "Kelly" who took the time and extra effort to bring to my room toilet psper. She had geniune kindness and a great attitude. I really appreciated that! House keeping was there to bring needed bath towels n coffee within minutes of calling and delivered with smiles. Our particular house keeper was a lil forgetful every time she cleaned..first day she forgot coffee n to empty trash cans, second day she forgot to leave bathroom towels. The hotel is near all kinds of shopping n retaurants n fast food places..close enough to walk if u want. Then a beautiful park called North Park was within 10min and gorgeous!! Had a beautiful lake with bike path that you could ride, walk, or jog around the entire perimeter. Also within 15min from downtown Pittsburgh but not so close that u get stuck or involved in all the traffic n masses of people if there's an event.

Not accesssible for any special needed person

Pros: Front desk staff where friendly.
Cons: conjestion of rooms, to much in such small rooms.
Location: hotel way up on a hill, had to walk or drive down a two way drive way to get in or out.Shopping was close.
small, crowded, huge hill to go up and down. A transport truck got stuck going down. Walking up and down road way is narrow and unsafe, stairs may have been better, not sure as I would not personally been able to climb that many. No shuttle service to downtown, which is where and why people come to Pittsburgh. We waited over 30 minutes for a cab, and gave up paying $15 to park down town.

Great proximity to downtown and shopping. Access to ice and vending is limited. Bathroom is dark; no light in entryway.

Pros: Not much!
Cons: A complete over haul of rooms.
Location: McKnight Road, Pittsburgh Pa.
Checked in to a dirty bathroom and dirty towel hanging on back of bathroom door. I reported this to the front desk, the man said he would notify housekeeping, but we came back six hours later to a dirty floor. (When we saw the towel when we first entered our room, we gave it to the cleaning man.) In the morning, we also found out the blow dryer did not work.

Baseball week

Posted 23-Aug-2014
Pros: The staff was nice.
Cons: The complimentary breakfast area isn't laid out very well. There was a lot of guests trying to get there food. A lot of time spent waiting.
Location: 6 miles from Pittsburgh. The baseball stadium was our main attraction, although we did take a tour of the Steelers stadium. We also went to the zoo.
The hotel sat up on a hill and was hard to get to at first. There isn't a sign or clue how to get there on your initial try. The staff was nice and helpful.

Will not stay there again.

Posted 20-Aug-2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: see note above.
The room they gave me had a no smoking sticker on the door but was clearly a smoking room as it smelled like a bar on Sunday morning. The bathroom was filthy. Also it was impossible to find as it cannot be seen from the road it is on. It is situated way up on top of a hill.

Bad location to find, unclean.

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Hard to locate as address didn't match the location properly and no signage. The room was small and the bedspreads were stained along with some furniture. The staff didn't make up the beds properly and didn't replace the towels, had to go and ask for the towels. Also didn't vacuum. I rate this as as 2.50 not what it was rated as!
