Cons: tear it down and build a new one
room was dirty. had to ask for towels. they tried to give me dirty ones. no garbage bag in bath room. bed linen was very stained. big black splotches on bed spreads.

Pros: Pros: Convenient location, close to major highways, restaurants, and shopping.
Cons: Cons: Entrance to the hotel is not marked and is hard to find.
Location: Lots of stores and restaurants near by. An easy drive to downtown Pittsburgh.
I was in town for a funeral and booked this hotel because of price and location. I had no problems checking in or with the cleanliness of my room. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was fine too. The bed was very comfortable and there were many restaurants nearby. The breakfast selection was ok, I didn't see any fresh fruit. I didn't use the pool or exercise room. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

No housekeeping service for my two night stay. Heard that there was a staff walkout my first night. Room and hotel were clean and comfortable otherwise. Breakfast scrambled eggs leave a lot to be desired. It was a good location for me, close to family and to downtown.

Cons: Cleanliness overall needs to greatly improve.
I had higher expectations of this chain. Though we had booked our rooms several weeks in advance, when we got there no rooms were available due to cleaning staff being short and behind. Desk was not even certain we could get the 2 double bed room we had requested on our reservation. Hotel was sold out and at 5:30 pm they were still cleaning rooms from earlier. The room was fairly clean. Beds comfortable, bathroom ok. Toilet bowl looked very dirty or stained. Carpets in lobby, halls and stairs were littered and needed vacuuming. Floors in breakfast area were sticky when we came down for some hot water. Tables still dirty from earlier meals? Staff said they are working hard at bringing things back to a better state. However, they have a long way to go. I may come back to see if efforts to improve were effective. Wait several months before trying!

Cons: Better management.
Location: Upscale shopping at Ross Park Mall.
The room booked did not have the amenities listed on my Expedia receipt. There was no refrigerator nor microwave. The iron and ironing board were not present and neither was a desk. I had to ask for a banquet table and chair to work on. The shower smelled liked mildew. The foyer light doesn't work. The TV is over 10 years old. Maid service was non-existent. After the second day, I had to ask for towels and on the third day I had to go to the front desk and ask for towels and maid service. Trash piled up in the room until I requested it be removed at the front desk.

Nice hotel and friendly staff. Either there was a problem or this hotel has a different cleaning schedule. Two of our nights the cleaning wasn't done until 8:00 in the evening, same next night as well. Nice variety in breakfast during our stay. Never had the same breakfast twice. Sadly did find mold in the fruit salad one morning. Overall great hotel and would recommend to people.

Hotel needs updated. Room needed cleaned better. Breakfast was awful. Several items were empty and those that were there were almost inedible. The potatoes and eggs were burned. The coffee had floating things in it.

Pros: The location was convenient to Pitt, where my daughter will be studying in the fall.
Cons: The maid service was not very good.
Location: Lot sod chain restaurants right near by--Starbucks, fast food, Bravo Italian Kitchen. Easy to access downtown and the universities from there.
The first room we were put in smelled like cigarette smoke very heavily. It also looked like it was being partially repainted, and the toilet looked moldy. I asked if we could move and was given a second room, but the door was ajar and the bedding was on the floor. So I asked to be moved again. After profuse apologies, one of the clerks walked up to the new room with me to make sure it was fine, and it was perfectly nice--exactly what it should look like. I also showed the trouble with the other two rooms. So I'd give them good marks for being willing to fix the problem, though obviously that should not have happened int he first place.

Great stay in Pittsburgh

The staff there was very friendly and helpful from check in to check out...the rooms were nice and beds were very comfy. The only complaint I would have would be the air conditioning in my room... No matter the adjustment made... When it was on you would freeze and when off it was HOT. In all though I enjoyed my stay at Laquinta in Pittsburgh.
