“All I have to say is GREAT VALUE!”
I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend stay there. The rooms were absolutely great, I was not expecting that out of a Howard Johnsons. The rooms were much more in the class of a holiday inn express and hampton inn, so its really not a 2 star but a 3 to 3.5 star hotel. The bed was comfortable, it was quiet and the location was phenomenal. It was literally a 10 min drive to manhattan, and a couple block walk to the subway. I will definitely stay in this hotel again, its quite a nice surprise.
“Everything i needed”
Was far from Midtown, but conveniently located next to the Long island Railroad.
“Great inexpensive hotel”
My wife was raised in this town and she was reluctant to go and stay in it because of perceived changes. She was wrong and she was happy to admit to this. She would now go back to this hotel at any time in the future. It was quiet, clean and warm. Breakfast was light and fine. The other guests were friendly and helpful. If I have to again visit this area, I will definitely stay at this hotel. By the way, they had the best rate in the area.
“Visit Mathues Restauntant, around the corner”
Very clean. Safe place. We had to walk from the LRR station every nigth (12:00 a.m. -2 :00 a.m.). Check the schedule for last train from Penn Station to Queens Village.
“excellant one night stay”
wonderful little place to stay and fairly convenient by car to anywhere in the city we needed to go. We did not spend time there and merely slept. It was a bargain.Beware of the confusing address as the first number (before the hyphen) refers to the cross street, not the house address. Put in all the numbers without the hyphen into a gps, if that is your means of navigation.
“good for the price”
The hotel is nice and very clean. The transportation to Manhattan just a few blocks away. I totally recomend this hotel.
“Noisy”
Ask for a "back" room as the ones on the street are noisy!
“Totally worth the price”
If you want to visit New York City on a small budget, this is the way to go
“Cheap but Clean!”
If you're looking for a clean yet cheap place to stay, this is it. It's about 15minutes from the airport but the room is large, charming and very clean. It's in the middle of a neighborhood so you hear the traffic and the train but the comfort out weighs those issues.
“Would Highly Recommend”
After reading negative refused I find myself shocked. As a lady traveling alone I have found this hotel to be extremely satisfactory. Even when food is delivered they call my room rather than having a stranger knock on my door. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel is quiet. The room is more than comfortable and the price is superb for the area. I am in the process of moving to this area and if everyone here is as pleasant as the staff of this hotel then I'll be very happy here. Strongly recommend.
