“Great B & B”

The room I stayed in must have been recently updated because it had newer fixtures and was very comfortable. Large breakfasts are included every morning, and the owners are really friendly, approachable and accommodating. There is a beautiful cat that is only allowed in the main areas of the house but not in the rooms. I enjoyed my stay here.

Would recommend for anyone staying in Canterbury. Very nice room, VERY comfy bed, nice shower and quiet location. Amanda and her hubby were extremely helpful - very sociable and pleasant without being overbearing. Would definetely stay again.

“Lovely place to stay - will return!”

I chose Amanda House based on the glowing reviews of previous visitors, and I am so glad I did. On arrival at the B&B (after a Starbucks/shopping trip), we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who explained our choices for breakfast and showed us to our room. Our room was an en-suite, and was comfortably furnished with tea, coffee, biscuits and an enormous TV(!). The bathroom was clean, modern and comfortable. The owners added lots of little touches that really made a difference, such as lovely shower gel/shampoo in the shower and even a packet of face wipes! The breakfast was great, with a good choice of cereal, plenty of toast and four or five choices of breakfast (we had a small English/pancakes with maple syrup, both of which were lovely). The parking was quite limited; there is a small drive with space for three cars, although the third car has to go up a section of kerb that isn't dropped - I didn't fancy that in my little car, so we parked on the street as it was a weekend and the restrictions were not in effect. I'm not sure how busy the B&B gets on a weeknight, but certainly the street parking was sufficient for us, and Canterbury is safe enough to leave your car on the street. All in all, a great visit and a lovely place to stay. We will definitely remember Amanda House (and their very friendly cat!) when booking future trips to Canterbury. Very friendly and efficient. Very convenient location for City, Super breakfast with a super Full English and a great range of imaginative alternatives. Lovely clean room with good quality furnishings. Extra facilities such as use of kitchen and a residents lounge with DVDs to borrow. Five star and faultless.
