“Lovely log house and excellent location”
We wanted to stay in a lodge just like this for our honeymoon, and it was the best choice for it. We stayed in Orchid suite, which is the entirety of the 2nd floor of the house. It was totally worth spending just little bit more for the suite than for other rooms. The total house was in the excellent condition with great cleanness. It was in the beginning of April 08, so it was little bit chilly in the morning, but it warms up quickly for the rest of the day. It is about 40-45 min from Hilo, so the location is very easy to access other cities and attractions in the island. Excellent breakfast included with tropical flavor. The house owner was kind enough to do laundry for us at the end of our stay.
“We're making this a tradition”
The Tara Firma Inn was gorgeous. Right in the middle of the rain forest, we awoke each morning to beautiful smells and views. We stayed in the Orchid Suite, and the whole experience was amazing! We're definitely making this a tradition!
“very nice bed + breakfast”
Very clean, comfy bed, big rustic cabin atmosphere (but warm and nice). Breakfasts were local prepared fresh fruits and juices with homemade breads or fresh biscuits. The fireplace was cozy. Our (Orchid)room had a big bath area, deep tub and a shower. Right in a lovely rainforest setting, close to Volcano's National Park. Just N a gorgeous coast, S to black sand beaches and sea turtles. Our hosts were pleasant.
“Great experience in Volcano Village”
If you are visiting Volcano National Park, this is a great place to stay. Its really close to the Park. The owners are friendly, and the rooms are comfortable and the Village has good restaurants nearby. The climate is cooler than Kona so its great to get away from the crowds at the beaches. The only negative I have is that it is somewhat far from many of the Northern areas and from some of the beaches, but I would definitely return to this B&B.
“Nice place”
Comfortable room, accessable common areas, and very nice breakfast.
“charming B&B”
Nice environment in the middle of forest, warmly and friendly welcome, good location near to volcano city and volcano park
“Very Friendly B&B in Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii”
Wonderful friendly place to stay when visiting the Volacanos of the Big Island on Hawaii. I would recommend it highly!
“Good B & B”
No complaints in general and B&B was very convenient to volcano area. Mein host (Fritz) made us very welcome and was ready to do what he could to make us comfortable. Breakfast was fruit and scones as well as instant porridge and cereal. B&B is wood and not insulated therefore most sounds carry. We had one night with noisy guests in another room followed by one peaceful night. We also heard Fritz preparing breakfast at 6am in the morning. In fairness, I wore earplugs both nights and slept soundly, but my wife didn't and was disturbed. My summary is 4 out of 5, nothing wrong with the B&B, very convenient to the volcano park and TAKE EARPLUGS!
“Sleep And Stay In The Rainforest”
Everything I'd read in the travel books said I could expect desolate lava flows around Volcano, HI. But we stayed surrounded by RAINFORESTS and beauty. Excellent nearby restaurant at Kilaue Lodge.
“great bed and breakfast”
really low key simple bed and breakfast. great location and really hospitable owners. if you are looking for a hotel room this is not the place but if you are looking for a homely and low key place to base your activities around this place is great. i enjoyed our stay.
