“un rêve de palace”
Me revoici 34ans après dans ce lieu mythique de Bruxelles. tous est toujours aussi beau, propre, élégant, discret et j'ai même revu un garçon de salle donc c'est la preuve que c'est une maison de confiance. c'est le confort et le luxe a l'ancienne avec tous le modernisme actuel. vraiment Merci a la direction d'avoir garder tous ce charme et son cachet a cette établisement.

“A week in Brussels at the Metropole”
The hotel is within walking distance of the Grand Place and many other tourist venues. The lobby is amazing. The style and painting are excelent. Brunch was included with our expedia rate. Altough the food was different than I am used to at home, it was good and there was a wide selection. The service at the brunch was excelent with my coffee cup being filled regularly. The hotel does not have a business center where I could check in online for my flight home. To offset this the staff allowed me to use one of their computers and printer to print the boarding passes. The included wifi worked well for my smart phone and laptop. Our room was very clean and well laid out. The furnishings were older and the room could use a decorating update. The decorations did not look anything like the pictures on their web site. We can only assume we got a room that had not been redecorated in 20 or 30 years. The only maintenance complaint was the drains on the sinks did not work properly. Overall we had a good stay.
“Old Europe still stylish”
I read so many mixed reviews about the Metropole Hotel I was not sure what to think--Guess it's just like anything else it depends on who you are. I would have to say that if you are looking for a great location in Brussels and a quiet nights sleep in a hotel with classic elegance Metropole is the right choice--Our room was huge but yes it was in need of some minor renovation and does not match the glamour of the lobby. Honestly if you are going to Brussels to count every defect in your room you probably would not have a good time anywhere. Bathroom was more than adequate and the staff did not miss a beat.. So if you get a good deal on expedia, take it , and don't examine everything in your room with a microscope, get out and enjoy Brussels.. The Hotel Metropole will meet all of your most important expectations..
“We loved it!”
The Metropole in Brussels was a delight from start to finish. We arrived early and yet were allowed to go straight to our room which was a relief as we were very tired. The hotel lobby and reception was beautiful, an absolutely stunning space filled with incredibly helpful staff who were able to converse in very good English. My partner lost his passport and this was dealt with calmly and patiently which was very reassuring for us when we were very concerned. Our room was perfect and very comfortable. We had booked a standard room and yet it was way beyond our expectations with a massive bed, private bathroom with a bath and double sink, large well stocked mini bar and lots of wardrobe space. It was also very clean and well appointed and cleaned to a high standard everyday. The hotel cafe was gorgeous and reasonably priced for wine although pricey for food. The serving staff were quick and helpful as well as being immaculately presented. All in all a perfect place to stay in Brussels, I would definately choose to return there if I was visiting Brussels again which I hope to do.
“Fully satisfied”
The Metropole Hotel was a wonderful experience from the moment the taxi arrived outside until our departure. All staff were courteous and charming and the service was faultless even in the Cafe which has a heated terrace. The only slight disappointment was that bathrobes had to be requested at an additional cost.
“Very impressed”
After reading so many reviews of this hotel I was a little afraid of what our room would look like but we had a huge room with a double sink bathroom. The view wasn't anything but I was okay with that because of the room. We stayed on the 5th floor which I think is considered suites but we just booked it like normal and didn't pay more. We also had air conditioning and I think it was mentioned in other reviews that this hotel didn't have any. Quite clearly we were in a newer part so it all depends on the room! The staff were very friendly and helpful.
“Excellent Base”
Really good hotel, with great architectural features and almost a Victorian feel of quality and service to it. I'd expect hot drink facilities in a room of this quality/price, but this was the only detriment to the whole stay.
“Charming hotel perfectly sited.”
The public areas of the Metropole are extremely elegant and our room was large and very comfortable with the biggest bed we had ever seen. We found the staff very pleasant and efficient. One small gripe though, the fine dining restaurant is closed at the weekend leaving just the bistro, but with so many other places to eat that wasn't a real problem. The situation could not be better; just two minutes from Rue Neuve for shopping and less than ten minutes walk to the Grand Place.
“Classic Old World Faded Elegance”
Arriving about 7:30 AM on a Saturday after a sleepless trans-Atlantic flight, I was surprised that from the outside the Metropole entrance was singularly unimpressive. On entering the hotel the desk and ambiance was one of a long gone past -- classic Old World. The ceilings were high and elegant in the small main lobby and in a public room off the lobby, although the scaffolding being used to renovate the lobby was less than elegant. The Metropole staff apologized and explained that the superior room (at an extra price) I had booked thru Expedia was still occupied, but they could put me in a standard room. Tired, I took it and was very pleasantly surprised. Spacious, great bathroom, and quiet if not elegant. I wound up staying in the lower priced room for both 0f my planned nights, and even extended my stay for one night (at a higher rate). Unfortunately I did not receive credit for the lower priced room. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the Great Place (the heart of the old city) and there is a subway right outside the entrance. Breakfast (which was not included in the Expedia prepaid portion of my stay) was served buffet style in a room that is upstairs from the main lobby. It was certainly adequate if not spectacular, with a reasonably wide selection that are more or less standard among European hotels,
