"For the price, I would give this place an eleven if I could. It's not the Ritz, but for a budget-conscious traveller like me, it's great.
PROS: (there are a lot of them):
The room was large and clean
The beds were comfortable
The bath towels were huge and thick! (not the skimpy kind in almost all budget hotels)
The fridge in the room had two separate doors, one for freezer and one for keeping things cold (other hotels have a fridge with one door and separate freezer and fridge area - a combination that doesn't work well)
The microwave was good
The kitchen area had a Keurig coffee machine with four complimentary pods
The location of the Boha is close to everything in Lake Placid
CONS:
Like too many hotels, the lighting is poor. In the old days, hotels put in low-wattage bulbs to save money - this makes no sense with LEDs. I would add at least one more lamp to each room and put in dimmable high-wattage equivalent bulbs.
MIDDLE:
The room had a huge TV (very unusual in a budget hotel), but the quality of the picture was poor, so I rate that a draw.
Be aware that there is no lobby, check-in area, or personnel around. This is strictly a remote check-in process so check your email before you arrive and call/text the assistance number to find out your room number and code needed to unlock the door. Assistance either answered or called back quickly. There ought to be a very prominent sign at the hotel to call for the room number and code if you don't already have it."
